This thread seems pretty dead so far, didn't get a single response. Anyways I've done a lot of research as I plan to go there with my family soon. Based on what I've found, Mexico offers a wide array of destinations that cater to various interests.

One of the top places I’m considering is Cancún and the Riviera Maya. The beaches there are renowned for their beauty, and there are some fantastic opportunities for snorkeling and exploring ancient Mayan ruins.

Mexico City is another must-visit. It's rich in history and culture, with plenty of museums and historical sites to explore. I'm particularly excited about visiting the National Museum of Anthropology.

For a more off-the-beaten-path experience, Oaxaca seems like a gem. It’s known for its vibrant markets, crafts, and delicious cuisine. I can’t wait to try authentic Oaxacan food!

Lastly, Guanajuato caught my attention. This colonial city looks straight out of a storybook, with its colorful buildings and winding streets. Plus, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. I took some help from other forums and this article https://www.kimkim.com/c/10-days-in-mexico-5-unique-itinerary-ideas  also asked some local https://gowithguide.com/mexico/cancun  I hope this helps others planning their trip to Mexico! If anyone has been to these places, I’d love to hear more about your experience

Hi Will,

shame about the lack of responses, but that seems to be the way of things these days. Bring back the much more user-friendly Forum, I say 🙂

I have to admit, Mexico is not a place I've considered and is waaay down the bucket list presently.

I do like wildlife watching potential on my hols and there appear to be much better options elsewhere for that.

That said, I don't know if you're aware or when you're planning to visit, but there's a total eclipse due in Mexico on 8th April, which is expected to last for 2 hours and 41 mins with the totality 4.5 mins ! West coast is the place to be apparently.

Enjoy your trip whenever you do manage to go 🙂

A solar eclipse sounds really cool, I'll have to check if our dates overlap with that. The destinations you mentioned like Cancun and Mexico City look great. I haven't been before so it'll be fun to experience somewhere new.
