Hi Di, I would love to see Iran but the problems getting an ESTA afterwards would mean that I would need to do Alaska first of all, so it would be a few years down the road (if JY run it then!!).  Like you, I would love to see Ethiopia - the Simien Mountains and gelada baboons, rock-hewn churches at Lalibela  and this is probably pushing it, but I'd love to see the Danakil depression, even if it was just to fly over it?!  Anyhow, I see there is some unrest in the country at the moment which may be putting JY off going there.  We'll have to wait and see!

All the best,

Bob

Hi Cindy

Going back to the posts approx 22/8. I know that you have been travelling with JY for a long time. Did you do some backtoback tours originally?

Perhaps I will meet you on a tour in the not too distant future, but will you be thinking of more US holidays, I wonder. Hope your son's wedding goes well or has gone well this year. Yep, I read the posts but don't always have time to put up posts myself.

Kind regards

Di

HELLO DI,

I have not done back to back tours, but some years I have been lucky and done two long haul tours.

All the tours I have done I have enjoyed, sometimes for different reasons but they have been great fun and I have seen and done so much.

My sons wedding was amazing I felt a very proud Mummy on the day. I hope to be back travelling with JY in 2017 now my money can be re assigned

I am not to sure if I will venture on any more USA tours as I have been very lucky to do most of what I wanted to see and do, but I shall keep my eye on ALL the tours...

happy travelling to you

Cindy

Hi Bob,  Ethiopia was or perhaps still is on offer with an company which does holidays for people over 50 and I had looked at that. I recently saw a TV programme on Ethiopia where the focus was on the gelada baboons , in the Simien mountains. Huge troops of the baboons were trying to raid the crops at dawn and the young local boys were chasing them off. The DVD, I think it was called " 80 treasures round the world" with Dan Cruikshank (hopefully my memory is correct?) listed towards the top The Lalibela Cross.

See you in Ethiopia when the unrest dies down then.

As much as I know Iran is beautiful and has great historical sites, I am a little apprehensive about going there, also thinking about ESTAS.

Regards Di

JY - you are whipping us up into a frenzy     :D

Nearly fainted last night (OK slight exaggeration) when both Mongolia and Iran came up on the website as countries to visit .. unfortunately no details came up ... a good sign though ... I'm sure it won't be long

Oh dear, so now it begins. The desperate hope each day that on my return from work there will be an exciting new brochure awaiting me........ only to find the empty door mat mocking me. Yes, I know there is always the website but despite having been caught in the iPad / Kindle electronic world I still want an old fashioned magazine to flick through. ?

Are the new brochures sent to people who have ordered ones in the past or do we need to request them to be sent - as I would like to get a new one please!! 🙂

Good Morning Loua,

It seems like you haven't been sent a brochure because at some point, you ticked the 'Do Not Mail' option which means we cannot send you brochures.

I have ordered one for you today and it will arrive at your doorstep soon but you will need to notify us if you want us to un-tick the 'Do Not Mail' option as we cannot send you brochures without your authorization.

Kind Regards,

Mildred.

Good Morning Loua,

If you un-tick the 'Do Not Mail' option, it means that we will send you all the new brochures by post when they land.

Kind Regards,

Mildred.
