Hello

I’ve just made a booking online and, from what I understood from the other threads regarding your new loyal scheme, I was expecting to receive a discount on my next holiday. I will be taking my next holiday within 12 months of my return from Chile. Although I think it’s great you are introducing a loyalty scheme I’m finding it a little confusing.

Thanks,

Taffy.

Good Afternoon Taffy,

Please take a look at this link which covers numerous questions asked by our JY customers about the loyalty scheme.

Hello Taffy - yes , it can seem confusing ! The most '' succinct '' explanation I have found , is in the '' booking conditions '' section of the latest JY brochure . Even I have managed to follow that and have received a nice discount on my trip this June ! I think it is good that JY have introduced this scheme as they have many long standing '' repeat '' customers . All the best , Chris ( aka NeilY ) .

Hi Amy

I have read the thread and maybe I’m missing something but I still don’t understand why I have not received a loyalty discount. My last holiday with JY was in November 2017 and the holiday I have just booked is in May of 2018, so from what can understand I do comply with the timescale. I notice it does say that JY will make a decision based on tour choice. Does this mean that not every tour qualifies? As all my holidays are long haul none of them are cheap so I don’t understand what someone has to do to qualify. I would have booked my holiday regardless however I do think JY needs to publish very clear guidelines on which holidays count, as I presume JY is implying not all holidays will qualify even if they are taken within the stated timeframe.

Kind regards,

Taffy

Another class response from Amy!

I've been biting my tongue so far on this whole loyalty thing as people continually question it. My take on the loyalty benefit is that no way will their systems be intelligent enough to know if you qualify. It will be up to you to point out. For this reason I would be reluctant to book online. As for the quantum, who knows...it all seems very secretive and not up front. Thinking of booking a holiday, ask the editor what the quantum of the loyalty benefit is before booking!

The loyalty benefit and price match seem good sound bites but no one knows what the loyalty discount is and I would be amazed if anyone will ever be able to successfully claim on the price match.

I'm doing just one holiday next year (aside from a family cruise) and it will be in November. I done two long hauls in 2017 returning in October from my last trip. Unfortunately I will not be able to put to the test the loyalty benefit, missing out by 21 days.

Hopefully the loyalty benefit is just going through a bedding in stage but maybe it needed just a bit more thought before putting it out there.

I think I better change my avatar pic again!

Hi Julia/Amy

Maybe a clear statement of :-

.    when the scheme will start

.    all the criteria to qualify for a voucher

and

.    how (and from what date) vouchers can be redeemed

can be made and put in a new thread for all to see as there seems to be a lot of confusion around this. I'm sure everyone is really pleased that the scheme will be in operation but a bit of clarity of how it will work would help.

Thanks

Rose

Good Morning Rose,

The Guaranteed Loyalty Benefit was launched with the Just You January 2018 brochure. All customers returning from their Just You holiday will receive the loyalty benefit in their welcome home letter. Any customer who has booked a holiday with Just You in the last 12 months will receive a discount voucher which can be used on all new bookings departing before July 2018.

Kind Regards,

Amy

Hi Amy,

Welcome home letter? Ha!  That's if you get one.  My holiday questionnaire didn't arrive after Chile - so I asked on the forum and you said you'd ordered one for me.  It never arrived.  Just like my holiday questionnaires didn't arrive after Crete or the Danube Wine trip.  It's too late now, so don't worry about trying to organise another one.  It seems that there are still admin problems in the business and, despite the assurances I've received over the last few months, that little is changing.  So disappointing.

Best wishes,

Bob

When will the discount vouchers be issued?  I last travelled in May 2017 so assume I qualify. I’m holding off my next booking in  hope of a discount

Hi Angie S, thank you for your feedback.  We launched the new guarantees to offer peace of mind to all of our customers in terms of booking early and being rewarded for their loyalty to Just You, we are confident that our customers will benefit from them. At this stage to redeem the loyalty benefit travellers need to call through to our contact centre and they will apply the discount. In terms of the Price Match guarantee our terms and conditions in the brochure and online are very clear, if you find the identical tour for a lower price with another tour operator we will refund the difference and give £100 discount per person to a future booking.

Kind Regards,

Amy

Hi Sarah S

I understand that anyone on the mailing list that booked in 2017 will be receiving a voucher this week. If you are NOT on the mailing list, our holiday advisors will apply a discount to your booking should it qualify for the saving when you call.

Amy

Thank you Amy

üst for 100% clarity, does this mean that those of use who travelled in the last 12 months and who will receive a voucher can only use it against a NEW booking - ie one to be made after receiving the voucher (which we have not yet received) - and which is departing before July 2018?

I ask because I my next holiday is in May but it is already booked, so am I correct in thinking I will not be able to use my voucher when it arrives?

I understand there has to be some cut off point, I'm not complaining, just checking.  All being well I'll receive a voucher after my May holiday and my September one so I should be able to at least use one for a 2019 holiday  🙂

Best wishes

Rose

Hi Rose,

Absolutely, the voucher is for new bookings only so you wouldn't be able to redeem this against your May holiday.... but, yes, when you return from that trip, there will be a voucher waiting for you.

Kindest regards

Amy

So I have just received my loyalty discount voucher in the post and as I suspected there is a sting in the tail.  The voucher is valid for 6 months - great but the expiry date is a holiday DEPARTURE DATE OF 31st 2018 so for most of JY's loyal customer who book well in advance it is worthless.  Also in the small print on the back you only get £100 off holidays costing £1,000 per person - for a holiday over £1,000 you get £50.

Not impressed JY.

Good morning Amy,

Although I’m waiting for a reply to a message I posted earlier this week I am concerned the reply posted above contradicts previous advice posted on this forum. We were previously told the online system would know we were returning customers and apply a discount. This didn’t happen for me when I booked my holiday only last week. When I called JY this week I was advised I would be able to apply the discount to my booking, but again this doesn’t not match the information given about. I feel as if we are now going round in circles, with differing advice given to each new query.

Best wishes,

Taffy

I think this has been terribly confusing. From what I had read on this forum, if people booked another holiday within 6 months of returning from one, then they would get a discount on their next holiday provided it started within 12 months of the last one.

I had done this and did not receive a discount.

Today I got a voucher in the post saying I could take it off my next holiday but that it had to be used on one starting before the end of July 2018 which seems at odds to what is printed in the back of the brochure in the terms and conditions.

I admit that I had no idea about the loyalty discount when I booked my next holiday and don't know whether it would have influenced by decision to book, but having done so and it meeting the criteria set out in the T&Cs, I feel slightly aggrieved that things seem to have been changed.

Hi Bob,

I'm disappointed to hear that you still haven't received your holiday questionnaire. I can assure you we are as frustrated as you are regarding this matter and I can assure you that we will continue to investigate this.

Good Afternoon Melanipick,

The voucher that you got in the post was an exclusive loyalty discount as a personal thank you as we did not want those of you that booked with us in the last 12 months to miss out. This discount needs to be used on a Just You holiday travelling before the end of July 2018, whilst not everyone will be able to use this but we hope you received it in the spirit it was given.

Kindest regards

Amy

Taffy,

I hope you got things sorted out with your loyalty discount. From what I can see I don't think the specific query you raised was answered. Perhaps you have been contacted directly and all is good.

Okay, I appreciate the spirit in which my recent voucher was given, so thanks. However, as I always book up to a year in advance, I don't expect that my loyalty will ever be rewarded in reality - unless I get £100 knocked off my next booking, which will be for something in 2019.

Nice try, but for a genuinely loyal customer (around 14 trips so far and singing your praises to all my friends, many of whom have gone on to book for themselves) I am left genuinely unrewarded.
