can credit cards be used widely in Namibia please?

also I understand we can't get Namibian dollars here and that South African rand is used or possibly American dollars ? If we take these are we taken to somewhere to exchange pls ?

im assuming not much money is needed as only lunch/drinks and souvenirs are to pay for 

any help would be great

Thanks for your message. Credit cards are widely accepted in Namibia but we would recommend also having some cash on you for purchases in remote areas. The only currencies accepted in Namibia are the Namibian Dollar and the South African Rand. You can exchange currencies at foreign exchange bureaus in the airport and major towns and cities throughout the country.
