Hi,

Wherever you are going, please beware.of the ring scam.

I was in Paris waiting for the coach and man walked.passed me, bent down & turned around to face me. He had his hand held out holding a gold.coloured wedding band. He said"this is your ring". I said it was not. He kept trying to give the ring to.me, until I told him, I knew it was a scam & if he didn't leave me alone, I would scream at the top.of.voice. He hurried off, like a scalded cat.

If I had taken the ring, he would have said I had taken it of him, he woulď then call.his.criminal colleagues & demanded a lot of money.

So.please, if this happens to you, tell them you.know it is a scam and leave you alone or.you will scream and shout.

I have seen this.scam on television and it happens all over world .

Take care and lots.of.love from,

Lisa x

Thanks Lisa, that's a new one for me - thought I knew most of them.

Hi Sylvia,

I thought I would make people aware, as these gangs are very insisting that the ring is yours and they thrust it at you and don't give you a chance to check your jewellery. It is reallu awful and these idiots are intimidating. I was worried about he knew I was British aa he spoke english to me straight away. I guess he must of heard me talking to a vendor and followed me, which is unnerving.

I just wanted to make people aware of these stupid gangs and for people to tell them that thwy lnow it is a scam and to get lost. Thinking of it, I should have taken a photo of his ugly mug and said I was going to the police.

Love from,

Thanks Lisa for this. There are too many such people around and one can never be too careful.

Well done, Lisa, on taking such a brave stand.

You don’t have to cross the Channel to be so scammed. I had a late breakfast last week and watched most of Crimewatch Roadshow which showed cctv footage of an ATM scam.

A man came up behind an elderly gentleman withdrawing cash and dropped a £10 note on the ground. Picking it up, he offered it to the gentleman telling him that he had dropped it. The gentleman told him he hadn’t but while his attention was diverted away from the ATM, another gang-member sidled up on his other side and removed his credit-card.

They both moved away posthaste before the gentleman realised his card had disappeared with them.

Before the first guy proffered the tenner, he had watched and memorised the PIN the gentleman had entered so that the two of them then had all they needed to go and raid his account. I have a feeling a third chap was involved but can’t now quite remember the part he played, it was all so fast. But that’s the gist of it.

Hi Mike21,

Thanks for your message.

It really annoys me, these rip of merchants. All you can do is be vigilant and try to be wise and one step ahead. And of course, make others aware of what is going on out there.

Have a great day,

Lisa
