Hi Julia

Thank you very much for the information.

Am pretty certain that Kim Clark was the TM when I went on the Malaysian tour (mainland Malaysia) back in Nov. 2010. That tour was only in the brochure for a short time.

Happy New Year!

Warm Regards

Kim was tour manager when I did spirit of India in 2015 and also when I went to Borneo in 2016, she’s a great tour manager and gets everything sorted out

Hi Kedi I shall be flying out a week earlier than you for the Invitation to India trip and then joining you on the tiger trail. I shall soon have to see if any extra medication is required and also sort out the visa. Looking forward to meeting you in Delhi.

Yes, look forward to meeting up with you in Delhi too!

Before that we both have the India visa to tackle - I remember from my last trip that it takes a bit of doing - well worth reading through the form first so you can get everything ready. Think there was eg. a long list of countries visited to add, plus a couple of hotel addresses. I had to go over to my brothers so he could "shrink" my passport pages and photo to the required size - what a palaver! Sadly his computer died in the meantime so he no longer has them saved. Still it will be good to catch up with him and then go through it all again on his new machine! So any hints on the best way to approach it appreciated.

Back to reading Rudyard Kipling!

Hi Julia

I am on the India Iconic and the Wild tour departing February 21st which incorporates the Tiger Trail tour. There is an internal flight from Nagpur to Mumbai. There is no information about this in the final paperwork except for a flight reference G82602 . This appears to be a flight with Go Air who have a baggage allowance of 15kg.. The paperwork shows a JY allowance of 20kg 'irrespective of the airline's own allowances' under the Travelling with British Airways heading. BA allowance is 23kg. Please clarify. Will I have to pay excess baggage if I exceed 15kg on the internal flight?

Hi Peter,

The team have just confirmed that for this tour, regardless of airline, the baggage allowance is 20kg so you won't pay an excess if you are over 15kgs and under 20.

I hope you have an amazing time in India!

Kindest regards,

Julia

I think Kim was my tour manager in Borneo Oct 2017 ( there can’t be two Kim’s?!). She was great and I’d be very happy if she does the a Tiger trail I’m booked on in Oct!.

Hi Peter

Thank you for posting about luggage weight limits. It was extremely useful for me as I hadn't read the final info.correctly and would have ambled along with just slightly under the 23 KG. This is what my luggage nearly always weighs and I hadn't given it a thought! oops! Now to amend my packing list.

Enjoy your first week, look forward to seeing you in  Delhi.

Hi Tim, look forward to meeting you and rest of group just going to look for tigers at LHR.

Best wishes

Good Morning Julia

Is it possible, please, to give us some info regarding our transfer from Delhi airport to the Hotel.

I know that Kim will already be in Delhi, but is she coming to meet us off the BA flight or will it be a local guide.

Normally we would meet the TM at baggage reclaim and then the local guide/rep outside the terminal to take us to the transfer vehicle.

In India I understand that people cannot get into terminals unless they have a valid flight ticket. So will the local rep or Kim be able to get into the terminal to meet us or not? If we have to meet outside the terminal it would be useful if we knew how many of us there should be so that we can make sure that we are all together.

Sorry this long winded and understand if you can't give us any info.

Warm regards

di

Hi Di,

There will be a Just You representative and the tour manager in the arrivals hall at Delhi airport holding a Just You sign.

I hope this helps and I hope you have an amazing holiday! 🙂

thanks,

Good to know!

It’s only a very short transfer to the first hotel. We are due to land before 9am. Can you please confirm that we will be able access our hotel rooms immediately on arrival?

Many thanks

Hi 1981Kedi,

Normally, the hotel in Delhi is able to accommodate our groups early arrival and travellers are able to use the rooms straight away. However, it cannot be guaranteed as the hotel may still have guests from the previous night.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Reading conflicting information on whether we can take rupees in or not, anyone know what the rules are?

Thanks

Hi Peter

Thanks for posting. Good to have that info. I hadn't seen your post til Kedi told me.

Look forward to hearing about your adventures on Invitation to India. Hope your sunrise visit to the Taj was the day after Mr Trump's visit.

Best wishes
