Hi there, am going to south africa in october and was thinking of loading a card instead of taking travellers cheques, 1. would you reccomend this and if so what currency should I use, 2. if travellers cheques are the best option, again which currency is best? many thanks

I would go for the preloaded travel card rather than travellers cheques as they are more convenient to use. As for which currency, some card issuers offer a card in South African rand, which would be ideal.
