Hello

I did it!  I booked my first trip with JY to Burma and I've one year to get over any confidence crisis!  I love travel and been lucky enough to go to a few places; now that I'm on my own, I didn't want to waste time sitting and wishing.  Is anyone else booked on this trip?

I feel happier that we all meet at Heathrow and then can use the lounge.  And I'm looking forward to the Malaysian Airlines flight, on the very large airbus!  So there we are..... I feel brave, very brave!!

If this goes well, I'm thinking Kerala, China maybe.....

Hi Judy

Well done for taking the first step. Burma is on my list of destinations to visit. Hopefully I will be able to do so in the next couple of years. I did the Kerala trip last November and thoroughly recommend it. Kerala is beautiful. I have not yet done the China trip, but that too is on my ever growing long list. Let us know how your first Just You experience went.

Hi Judy, well done!  I'm seriously thinking about booking this tour so I may well be joining you next February!  The lounge is a great place to relax and meet people before the tour and I've travelled with Malaysian Airlines before and found them to be excellent.   I've just read Jonah's great review and it has made me more determined than ever.  I did the China tour in Sept 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it, very interesting, varied and comprehensive.  Welcome to the world of JY, I've done 12 tours over the last six years and have enjoyed every single one immensely.

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi, thanks for your replies, I'm very much looking forward to the trip. I've waited a week and not received any confirmation and been trying two afternoons this week to get through on the phone to customer services, on hold for 20 mins or more before giving up. Are other experiencing problems with getting through to customer service?

Hi Judy, I booked the tour on Friday afternoon, so looking forward to meeting you next Feb on what should be a fantastic tour!  I got through after holding for around a minute, so no problems there.  Have you checked your email as JY are now emailing the confirmation docs to customers - the final docs (with luggage labels etc) will still be posted.  My confimation email came through in less than an hour after booking.

Cheers,

Bob

Well done Pat! My sales pitch obviously worked! You can give me my commission in the usual way!

Hi everyone, our Burma Feb 2017 departure is now sold out!!  Is this the earliest a JY tour has ever done this, I wonder?!

Looking forward to meeting everyone in eleven months!!

Cheers,

Bob

It looks like I can't come in February even if I wanted to since the tour is already sold out!! It would have been great if I had been able to make it as it would have been lovely to meet all the forum regulars, some again. I know it is a long way away, but I wish you all a wonderful trip - I am a little bit envious as I know you all are going to have so much fun!

Many thanks Jaya, but I know you will have a fabulous time on the Costa Rica/Nicaragua tour!  If you haven't already done so, buy a camera with a really good zoom as you will need it!

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Bob,

As you know the Burma tours are selling extremely well.   I had to book my mid November 2016 trip to Burma at the end of August 2015 securing the 2nd last spot with the tour sold out the following month.

If anyone is thinking of a particular Burma date - keep a close eye in case the trip you are thinking of sells out without you knowing!

I don't want to wish my life away but I can't wait to go to Burma!

Me again....I've just been looking.....

When I booked my 14th November 2016 tour to Burma it was the only one that month....

It sold out and a further tour was put on for the 28th November - only one place currently left......

With the second November tour on the verge of selling out, I see there is a third November date!

This is one popular tour!

Hi Bob

I have not yet had a chance to have a good look at the cameras with better zoom, but am hoping that I may be able to do so before the South Africa / Zambia trip in September. The current camera takes good photos, but I know I need better zoom for the wildlife. It looks like I will have to book my 2018 Burma trip as soon the brochure comes out as these trips are selling like hot cakes!!

Hi Jaya,

If you're interested I can show you the bridge camera I bought last year when we are in Borneo.  It is easy to use and has a massive 65x zoom which can be extended to 130x without loss of quality!  You might remember I used it in Etosha and got that great close up of the lion that was at the salt pan!

Cheers,

Bob
