Hi I lost my husband nearly 2 years ago and am now thinking of a beach holiday. I have looked at Greece The Mediterranean Village but looking at the reviews I'm not sure. I've never been on my own as I met my husband when I was 15 and was married for 42 years. Has any one got any recommendations or help they can give me.

Thank You

Hi Coops

I have been travelling with Just You since 2010 and have done both long haul and European trips. I was very anxious but excited when I went on my first trip to China. I need not have worried as my fellow travellers were very friendly and tour was very well organised. Holiday last year was to Apulia, a region of Italy I had not visited before. Although hotel was a little disappointing the tour itself was very good. This is a tour you might like to consider. I have travelled to lots of other areas in Italy but nit with JY. The review section of the forum is useful for checking out views on a specific holiday.

My advice is pick a holiday and go for it.

Hope this is helpful

Hi Coops

I would say just go ahead and book a holiday you fancy. Life is too short to worry about little things. Travelling with Just You is great as everything is taken care of and you do not have to worry about anything. Plus you will meet people of all ages and experiences and may even end up making friends.

Hi Coops. I was in a similar situation last year. My partner of 30 years walked out on me in 2012, I then had to go through a messy financial break up followed by foot surgery. I had been looking at Just You for a while and couldn't pluck up the courage to book anything too long in case I hated it or felt out of my depth. So I booked a short trip to Monet's Garden on the basis that it was short and something I had always wanted to do plus I love gardens so if I didn't like the set up at least I would get something out of it. I loved it and made 3 new friends I keep in touch with. Since then I have gone to Istanbul, Andalucia and have Iceland and Isle of Man booked for this year. I am also going to New England altho with a different company as the JY holiday doesn't suit my itinerary. So my advice would be don't be too ambitious for your first holiday but choose something you really want to do as the others on your holiday will at least have the same interest. Reviews are helpful but everyone gets something different from a holiday and what suits you will not suit everyone else who tries it. Good luck - go for it.

Hi there

Agree with everything already said. I lost my partner of 28 years 18 months ago. He was only 55..........so for me the most overwhelming thought I have is that life really is too short.

I went on my first singles holiday last May (with another company) and had a lovely time. Spent months looking at the different companies and holidays but just couldn't bring myself to book anything. Finally did it though and so glad I did.

Already booked another for May this year and quite like the look of Mykonos/Santorini with JY.........always wanted to go to Santorini and a few excursions included as I like getting out and about. Looking to go in September so will wait a while yet.

Hope you find something that's for you.

Regards, Carol

Hello Coops, I can recommend the Costa de la Luz beach holiday the hotel is very good,

next to a great safe beach and a nice walk from the town of Punta Umbria, there are

lots of reviews to help you make up your mind.

Dave.
