I have just returned from the June tour with Brian, and he takes some beating. He was excellent. I also believe you are having the same driver Dave too. they are like a double act. You will have a great time with these 2!! It is a great holiday although exhausting....

Thanks Lain - sounds great! Not long now either!!!

Hi Claire,

The Tour Manager for the Canadian Rockies & Vancouver trip is currently listed as Brian Croft.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi

Just got back from Canada and had Brian Croft as TM he was brilliant always a laugh but also caring and made sure everyone was having a good time, would definitely go on one of his again. Our coach driver was brilliant as well and they made a good pair, always laughing and enjoying themselves as much as us. We had brilliant weather so that helped and Brian's first remark each morning was

you are so lucky!. Nothing was too much trouble and he knew what he was talking about as it was his 11th trip there. You are lucky

to have him.

Sue Southampton

Thanks for the info Julia, and thanks for the feedback Sue.

Not sure how important the tour manager is to me but thats probably because all the ones i've had have been good in my opinion, quite different some of them but wouldn't mind getting any of them again.

So for the record as I remember -

Americas Golden West - David Crawford (first hol and gave loads of good advice)

Andalucia - Claire Mellor (very enthusiastic)

Mallorca - Jaqueline O'Donague (easy to get on with)

Parks & Canyons - Anne Murray (very proffesional but friendly with it)

Lake Annecy - David ?, quite young but kept us all entertained on chrimmy coach trip.

Croatia - did this with travelsphere but as others say "V" is a good leader.

Austria - Elaine very experienced and god communicator

Route 66 - Very knowledgeble but need a new CD collection for the coach journey, lol.

Costa Brava (chrimmy) - Freddie, perfect christmas leader.

Cilento Coast - Jan ?, was a lovely lady a few nervous newbies on this trip and she soon put them at ease.

Would hate to put them in aranking order.

Mick

ps: who have we got for National parks, canyons, mount rushmore, LBH from manchester 23rd sept ?

Hi Mick, I also had Claire Mellor on the Andalucia tour and she was outstanding - especially when she had to book everyone onto new flights and organise a coach to take us to Madrid thanks to a 24 hour lightning national strike! I had Ann Murray on the Golden West tour and she was brilliant, probably the best I've had: extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, very organised, great fun with lots of stories to tell. I've also had Zoe Ireland on the South Africa/Zambia tour and she was brilliant - in a large group she took the time to talk to everyone individually every day to make sure they were happy and enjoying themselves. Barbara Eastlake on the India tour was excellent, extremely well organised and handled a couple of tricky situations with ease! Debbie Alcorn on the Vietnam/Cambodia tour was also great and had to deal with a couple of difficult situations but took everything in her stride.

Well done JY, you have a great team of tour managers!

All the best,

Bob

Hello,

This has been a good read and peoples thoughts of their Tour Managers. 3 years since my first and 2 years since my second tour. Can see their faces. ? Carol for the Jordan, Sinai and Egypt tour. They had a native speaker for both Jordan and the Egyptian part. Ibrahim was great for Jordan. I had the dreaded runs and he took me into a shop for natural yogurt which helped. He knew everyone on the trip better than the TM.

Would still like to become a tour manager though :P

My India trip manager was Christopher Anderson - he is a fantastic guide: he usually does India/Far East trips, so if you get him, you will have a great time
