Well I have had MANY tour managers...!!!!! And they have varied along the way, only problem is I can't remember there names.

1st tour USA really superb manager male, did part time acting I recall, so glad I got a fun one to start with really did put me at ease..

Poland ..Ian Darkin he was just fantastic as he had local knowledge growing up in this country so he was just brilliant, and such a laugh..

Memphis and Nashville.... Blimey she was a miserable one, think she was a travelspher manager so not used to single people and had no interest whatsoever in music..so the WRONG choice of manager for us a music group..and she did not look out for the single traveller..not a nice experience at all and I felt so sorry for any 1st timers.

East Coastliner...another unhappy manager...not used to single travellers ..

Kenya Manager couldn't figure out what his job was as we had the somak reps looking after us so he was a bit of a spare part, but he mixed in well no became one of the group so to speak...

HKG and NZ lovely young lady, she really did her planning and her organisations skills were just great, really looked out for one and all,

Florida ..Kim Valencia...a great laugh and she was fantastic with keeping an eye on us all, and sorting out situation.,great.

I think some of the managers have been the icing on the cake for me...Saying that I am not high maintenance on a holiday and have never had a major problem... The only issues I have had to get them too look at is melas....as in I am a vegetarian...

They can do a great job in some very trying times, and it is not a job I would wish to do...some people on tours would take me to my patience limit..

So well done to the tour managers in the whole...the miserable ones I don't ever want to see again. The others, I would be more than happy to see again.

Have only done 2 JY hols. The 1st to S.Africa last Xmas and New Year. The tour manager then was Trish Ward who was pretty good and efficient tho our South Africa Guide Jason was the "main man" so to speak with his local knowledge and all round general helpfulness. Rob Hay was the TM on Cilento Coast and he was very good. He gave us mini history lessons about the area on our trips out and even gave us a few Tai Chi lessons. Really looked after us well and he was fun!

I have just returned from the June tour with Brian, and he takes some beating. He was excellent. I also believe you are having the same driver Dave too. they are like a double act. You will have a great time with these 2!! It is a great holiday although exhausting....

My tour manager on America's Golden West only bothered with the men as they bought her free drinks!!! Many a time she came on the coach with a hangover and told us all her life story she had been married four times. The best one was Prague, Vienna & Budapest really new his history but I can't remember his name.

I`ll second all of that, and to top it all, Rob looks exactly like Richard Gere!

Hello, the first tour manager I had was Debra Flower and she was fantastic, very patient and had a lot to deal with on the tour to Japan. She stayed professional throughout. My second tour to Canada the tour manage was Sue Davies. Another star of Just you. This year on the Inspirational China tour it was a man called John Dryllie. He wax excellent with a great amount of knowledge on China. It was a very interesting trip, which left me amazed.

Hi Caroline,

How are you doing?

I want to reiterate the comment about John. I thought he was absolutely amazing and what he didn't know you could write on a postage stamp!!

He made the holiday very enjoyable.

I've done 2 JY holidays and have to say that both tour managers were excellent.

Other posters have already mentioned Kim Valencia on America's Golden West was fantastic. Returned recently from Croatia's Istrian Close where the TM was a young lady named Vlatka. (think i spelt it right) She was very good and organised as there were one or 2 mishaps during the week. She also got up early to see us off on our day trip to Venice at 6am when it wasn't really necessary.

I agree, Rob was fab!;) He was Travelsphere too, but he coped with us singles without an problem.

I also had a brilliant manager for Lake Como, Tom. Very knowledgeable, and always interesting to talk to. The only bad one was Seville last year, he was more interested in the free wine than in us! Ducked out if a trip because he was hung over. Hope I don't meet him again!

I agree that Rob Hay was an excellent tour manager and looked after his "flock" well. Yes he does have a Richard Gere look about him. Someone said he looks like Richard Branson although I can't see it myself!

Hi

Just got back from Canada and had Brian Croft as TM he was brilliant always a laugh but also caring and made sure everyone was having a good time, would definitely go on one of his again. Our coach driver was brilliant as well and they made a good pair, always laughing and enjoying themselves as much as us. We had brilliant weather so that helped and Brian's first remark each morning was

you are so lucky!. Nothing was too much trouble and he knew what he was talking about as it was his 11th trip there. You are lucky

to have him.
