Hello Ben

Due to the recent floods in Beijing is it possible for you to ask the tour managers who have been there recently if they belive there is an increased risk of malaria. I have read the threads and appreciate it is up to the individual if they want to take anti malarial drugs as a precaution, I am sure most travellers do not want to take medication if it is not necessary. I have been to my Drs travel clinic and they say China health authority have not up dated the website therefore believe that there is no risk, Boots chemist say the same, but the seed of doubt has been planted. I am travelling to China on the 5th September

Are there any recent travellers on the site who would give their opinions on this issue?

Many thanks, Shirley

Good morning Shirley,

Thanks for getting in touch. We take our advice strictly from the FCO and as such there have been no announcements made by them therefore would be no cause for concern, with all these types of events, we monitor them very closely and if the situation changes, we contact customers asap.

I hope this helps,

Kindest,

Ben

Hi Ben,

This is a question that worries me also. I have been following the threads and the majority of travelers are taking malaria pills. Do you have any update on this situation ? I am going to China on 3rd October.

Also, can you advise on what type of electrical adaptor I need for China and what is the weather like in October so I have some idea what I need to pack.

Thanks for your help.

Annette

Good Morning Annette,

Thanks for your post, the electrical supply in China is 220 volts, and we recommend you pack a universal electrical adaptor.

In regards to Malaria we strictly follow FCO advise and monitor the situations very closely, should your holiday look as though it may be affected then we advise you asap, however in regards to Malaria tablets, you really have to follow the advice of your GP, I am unable to offer any advice on this,

I hope this helps,

Kindest,

Ben
