Hi Cheryl

I'm going on the Golden West holiday next week. I've just changed a lot of my money into travellers' cheques and I was just wondering, as I've never used them before, how easy they are to use. Do many places accept them and do hotels cash them?

Thanks

Nik

Hi Nik

Many people use their travellers' cheques like cash in the US, with many restaurants, hotels etc accepting them - just make sure you have some ID with you, ideally your passport.

You can also use your bank debit card at ATMs (cashpoints) in the US, which you might find more convenient another time.

Have a lovely holiday,

I have just come back from USA Tour and the lady I travelled with used Travellers cheques all the time, but you do NEED your passport to cash them...OK. Have a great holiday.
