Hello Graham
My thoughts are along the same lines as Jaya. I don't see any reason why JY should have an 'age suggestion'. For what purpose? And how would you propose to implement it?
I have been travelling with JY since 2005 and been on 17 holidays to present date, the majority of which have been very busy long haul, and I would say that all of those holidays have been suitable for 'all ages' providing you are reasonably fit and well. A good many of those holidays have included at least one person in their 80's, who managed to keep up with those younger than themselves without any problems.
JY does have a 'Please note.........' on quite a lot of their holidays, which usually comes at the end of 'Your Itinerary' and should be read by all, both older and younger people, although on the odd occasion that bit sometimes gets overlooked. But, even if you choose one of those holidays, there will be no guarantee as to the age of your travelling companions as most will be equally as capable as you in getting around and enjoying themselves, therefore, there is no need for 'age suggestion'. I can get on with people of any age, when I go on holiday I'm too busy enjoying all the sights and sounds around me to worry about how old my travelling
companions are.
Please don't put people into boxes, that's not what JY holidays are about, for most age is not a problem, that's why people keep coming back holiday after holiday. It's down to each individual to decide whether they want to accept things as they are, if they don't, then there are plenty of other holiday companies out there. I would venture to say it's more whether someone has an amiable personality that really counts, not their age. But, if you want to see the world and all the great places in it what better way to do it than with JY!
One note of caution though, women usually outnumber men, sometimes by quite a few, so if that will be a problem it may be advisable to leave booking for as long as practicable and asking the ratio of men v women before you book.
