Thinking of trying one of the discovery weekends before I decide if to go to Canana Niagara Falls & Toronto.

This will be my first holiday on my own so Im a little nervous and have so many questions hopefully you can help.

What age groups are usually on these holidays? Im 22.

Are the discovery weekends worth doing before taking the plunge?

How many people are in the group?

In my experience the typical JY traveller is 40 plus although there are younger who do travel with JY. At 22 you would almost certainly be amongst the youngest but please don't let that put you off. On the trips I've done everyone has mixed well irrespective of age and I think it adds to the break to have a good variety of ages in the group.

As Julian has said you would be in the younger age range, Most I have been on (I have done 6 tours) has been 55-70 age with people either side of that age range as well. But they are great fun and the young and the old all mix in together, I am 52 and am happy to hang out with the younger ones or the older ones, I love meeting new people and seeing great countries that's what makes the holiday for me.

Me personally I would just BOOK IT, and not bother with a discovery weekend, but that is up to you I know lots of people have enjoyed these weekends and going on one has inspired them to book a HOLIDAY.

The group sizes on a tour do vary, I have been away with 15-20 people but then again have had 35-40 people.

I would say at 22 you'll probably be the youngest on the holiday but if that doesn't bother you I'm sure you'll not regret booking.

On both holidays I've done there as been ladies in their 20's and they fully enjoyed the trip and mixed with everyone great. The majority of people seem to be in their 50's & 60's but there is a spread of youger and older without doubt.

I'm 52 and have found it quite easy to mix with younger and older people on JY holidays,ae doesn't seem a issue.
