Hi I did this trip last summer it was absolutely fantastic, lots of walking so take comfortable foot wear, don't drink tap water, but buy drinks in the supermarket where it is really cheap. Have a great trip

I went on this holiday and it was fantastic! Such a wonderful experience seeing the very old and new. Climate is mixed so you will need to allow for rain, cold and warm.

Thanks for the info and encouragement. Yes I am really looking forward to the 'culture shock'. China has long been on my 'wish list' and I know I will enjoy it - even if it rains!

Not sure about the money though - I have the shopping gene!

Don't worry, you will be fine. I live in Staffordshire, so there are no connecting flights from either Birmingham or East Midlands. I will drive down and leave my car at Heathrow.
