Thanks for the heads up Bob, have had a quick look, cant see any new, outside of Europe holidays, that appeal, altho' a few in Europe look interesting - especially in Italy. Just hope that if JY add to Italy holidays they don't require the 6am airport departures like their current holidays - which is the reason I've not done any of the Italy trips recently.

If you've been to these countries you can only visit the US by going through a full visa process at a US Embassy with all of the necessary faff and cost that will go along with that. I just renewed my ESTA for a work trip to the US and there's now an extra question on this along the lines of: "Have you travelled to Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria since 1st March 2011 inclusive, or do you intend to before your travel to the United States?" If you answer yes, you don't get approved.

If you never intend to visit the US again then it's not a problem in that case.

I did not know that, so many thanks for this information - it's made me think twice about Iran and I'm sure many people would think the same!  Here's hoping that diplomatic relations between the US and Iran continue to improve (and that certain presidential candidates don't get elected!!) and that this rule is lifted before too long.
