I am thinking of going to the USA next year 2018 I like the look of The Great Eastern USA and would like to talk to someone who has done this particular trip I would prefer to go in May/Sept because the summer months would be too hot and I think the spring and autumn would be preferable.

I have never been on a singles holiday before but since losing my husband I need to do this otherwise I would go nowhere.

Hi Maureen,

Welcome to the Just You community. I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband - it can take quite a bit of courage to even think about taking your first solo adventure. Just remember, you aren't alone - the Just You community is a very friendly place and I'm sure our members will make you feel welcome and help you decide on where to take your first trip (whether to the USA or elsewhere), share their experiences and offer any helpful advice.

In terms of The Great Eastern USA - this was a new tour for 2018 and to date there has only been one departure. I did have a quick look at it seems that we haven't had any reviews on the community for this tour yet. The next departure is in a few weeks so I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone posts a message/review on this tour when they return. In the meantime, if you have a particular question regarding the tour, please do not hesitate to ask, I can always speak to the holiday creator to get a response for you.

In terms of weather - May and September are slightly cooler than other dates but still pleasant (but you would still need to make sure you pack a lightweight waterproof jacket in case of a shower).

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Maureen

I have done many USA tours, you will have great fun, most have been September time, which is a lovely time to go.

No one dresses up to much on a JY tour I tend to go smart casual, comfy clothes and shoes are a must. I have a jacket that goes into three, a fleece, light weight jacket, that then can be zipped to make a all in one warm jacket, don't forget to take a light scarfs and gloves they can come in handy for early mornings or late evenings. I never take a brolly.

Any other questions just ask..

Cindy

Hi Maureen

I am going on this trip in a few weeks so hoping to post a review when I return. The two singles holidays that I have been on have been amazing. I am sure whatever trip you decide on you won't regret it.
