Hi I have booked a holiday with JY for New York in October this is my first singles holiday and I admit to being just a little nervous, I lost my husband 2 years ago and since then haven't been away since. Its getting close now and I'm not sure I've done the right thing.

Hi Maureen

The first time is always the worst, think of the reasons you selected New York and what you wanted to see and do. People who book holidays with JY want to be friendly otherwise they would travel on their own, and although there may be some you get on better with than others, it is the same in life. Relax because you will be well looked after and never be left on your own unless you wish and just go with the flow. Enjoy,

Jenny

Hello Maureen,

Of course you have done the right thing. Have done New York with family, would love to do it with Just You. Other places on my list first 😉 Going to Singapore and New Zealand next month. I have been a widow for 6 years and this is my 11th trip since 2010. I feel safe and know that I will love my holidays x

Enjoy

Hi Maureen, I also lost my husband 2 years ago and am going on my first just you holiday shortly. I too am a bit apprehensive but in a way I'm looking forward to it a little. You'll be looked after and feel safe which was important to me and with a bit of luck meet some nice people and have a bit of an adventure. Enjoy new York, if you haven't been before, it's fantastic.

I am sorry for your loss and I can only imagine how you are feeling, but please do not worry, I am sure you will have a great time, I have travelled the world with JY and it's such a safe way to travel, I have been to New York twice with JY and twice on my own there is so much to do and see it's such a fun place, so any questions just ask.

Go with an open mind, put your JY labels on your hand luggage to let people know, and remember it takes two people to have a conversation, we old hands just seem to embrace being a single traveller, but we never forget that it's also scary as well..

HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Hi Maureen,

I just read your post and your post. It is entirely natural that you feel some apprehension, I am sure that would be the same for most,  if not all of us in the same position. I am sure you will gain much needed confidence and strength from this trip and look back on it with very fond memories.

Have a fab time!

Best Wishes. S  🙂

Hi Maureen. Just You holidays will be ideal for you - lots of your travelling companions will have suffered a similar loss and everyone is very kind. Enjoy yourself, and I'm sure you will soon become addicted to 'single travelling!'.

Best wishes. L
