Hi

I read a comment which led me to feel that travelling on a JY holiday with a friend maybe "frowned upon" is this correct ???

The first JY holiday I went on had friends travelling together.

The trip I am booked on was initially for myself as the friend I normally go away with had a lot of commitments this year. However, as we both have it on our "bucket list" she asked if she could join me.

I would hate to think that this will cause any problems with our travel companions and would appreciate your advice.

Many thanks :s

Good Afternoon Faithful,

Just You are established as a single travellers company but we are aware that some travellers invite a friend to come along as they might need the additional support. We understand this so we do not frown upon it; as long as you understand the dynamic of the group and integrate with your travel companions then everything will be okay.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Many thanks Mildred

My friend and myself are both sociable and we look forward to making new friends on this trip.

Kind regards,

You most certainly can travel with a friend, I have done approx 10 tours since 2006 on about half of them I have travelled with a friend, these are Just You travelllers I have met along the way and we have buddied up on other tours, as Mildred has said, join in with others...my friends and I don't normally sit together on the coach as I like a seat on my own, and we go to breakfast at different times etc, it's fine so don't worry, the main gripe is when a big group of friends come on tour and just stick with their own friend group and do not mix in that can make people unhappy.

Hello Faithful,

Like Cindy, I have made many friends on these tours, of the 10 plus 1 to do in October. On the Flavours of Tuscany, I took my married sister Jen. She had never been to Italy so it was a great experience for her without husband and sons 😃 There was another set of sisters on this trip.

Only yesterday she was saying how much she loved Lucca and when can we go back. We would like to do Classic Cities of Italy next year. Need to see if JY are going to do a bigger trip through Italy (hint, hint  )

Usually find that singles group together with safety in numbers. Have not been on one trip where there has been too many in one group on their own.

Hi Cindy

many thanks for your reply.

The BIG plus for my friend is that we get separate rooms and she will not have to put up with me

snoring lol

We are both looking forward to this trip so much and will certainly join in with the rest of the group.

Hi Jan

lovely to hear from someone who has travelled with friend/family on these trips and lived to tell the tale !!!

If all goes well (which I`m sure it will) there are some other trips that we would like to do.

Faithful 🙂

Somewhat defeats the purpose of having a specialist in singles holidays, doesn't it?
