I'm wondering how many will be in the group travelling to Calabria on August 30th? Who will be leading the group? It's my first time with 'Just You' and this posting board is very useful. By the way, although I shall be on holiday, I do speak Italian and if I can assist at any time I'd be happy to do so !

Hi Juliana,

Welcome to the world of Just You! I hope you enjoy your first holiday with us.

Your tour is fully booked with 25 of you travelling to Calabria and the Tour Manager provisionally allocated to this trip is Sandra Polidori. She will be meeting the group in Italy.

I don't know about the rest of the group but I'm sure some of our fellow community members (including myself) wouldn't mind a few pointers with some of the more common phrases such as 'hello', 'goodbye', 'please', 'thank you' and 'I'll have a large glass of red wine please' (the last one is more for me than the rest of the community!) if you'd like to add them to the forum.

Have a wonderful time in Italy,

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi

I went to Calabria last year and loved it. They had a wonderful system at the hotel. You could order a bottle of wine, write your room number on the label and if there is any left either leave it on the dining table or hand it in at the bar and get it back next time! Never come across that anywhere else.

I enjoyed this holiday so much I am seriously thinking of doing it again.

Thank you for your speedy reply and the useful information!

As you requested them, here are a few key phrases in Italian :- 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' can both be translated as 'Ciao'. 'Please' is 'per favore' and 'thank you' is 'grazie'. You will also hear 'prego' a lot in Italy and this has many meanings, including 'don't mention it'/ 'please go ahead'. 'A large glass of red wine would be 'Un grande bicchiere di vino rosso'. 'White wine' is 'vino bianco'. You can make yourself understood very well with gestures too, of course.

Hope this is helpful.....!

Regards,

Juliana

These are great - thanks Juliana.

I personally will certainly be putting the 'Un grande bicchiere di vino ross' to good use use the future!

Warmest regards,
