Hi Olly,

I have booked gthe above for next year, but after I booked I read a report from a man who had just returned saying that whilst it was a fabulous holiday it was very tiring with alot of walking and stairs. This worried me a bit as I am not young - I'll be 74 when I travel, I have done the Parks and Canyons (twice!) and the Golden West - they were very 'full on' and there were people in their eighties on those trips but we were all fine. Is this trip any more tiring? It might be wise to change it for something else.

Regards, Pat

Hi Pat

By all accounts the Wonder of China does have quite a busy itinerary as there is so much to see. But I think if you were fine with the Golden West you should be fine on this tour. You will have to climb some stairs to see the Great Wall but I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss that. We try to make sure that our customers don't have to do more walking than they are comfortable with, so there will be moments for you to rest too.

I think it would be a shame not to see China - perhaps some other Community users could offer their advice too.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Hi pat

I was on the July trip

It was a mix from age 20 to 72 with one using cruches.

Great wall has some steep steps, but you do not have to walk the whole section, just do what you want to do (like some of even the younger ones did), sit and enjoy the view, use the local cafe for a tea etc..

JustYou use local guides which frees up the actual company rep who is always on the lookout for stragglers and you will find that people in your group support any who need to take things slower.

Chengde temples have some stairs to climb, but again you can take your time and your JustYou Rep will keep an eye out for you, as Daniel did for a couple of the slower in our group.

Tour is 'busy' in that we saw a lot of places, but have coach/train between them so plenty of time to relax.

If you want a taster, I have some videos on Youtube from the July tour (not all sites, just a few)

Thanks Trev,

Just viewed your videos and It all looks fantastic! Didn't watch them all the way through as I'd like some surprises but I can't wait now. I'll brush up on my ABBA for the last night!!

Many thanks,

Pat
