Anyone got advice for me about what to take to Iceland? I've got duvet coat, boots, ice grips and thermals etc but how do visits work? I read somewhere on the community advice to take a change of clothes in a bag for meals out! Anyone who has done this visit; all suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi Gillbo

I did this trip in March last year - it's an amazing place, you'll have a fantastic time.

If you put 'Icelend' into the search function at the top of the page, you'll find reviews and tips from myself and a number of my fellow travellers, including Bob Gray, which should answer most of your questions.

Top tip is to pack layers and bear in mind that you will be on and off the coach quite a bit so wear stuff you can throw on and off easily. The Hotel and restaurants are also warm and comfortable so you won't need to walk around dressed like the Michelin Man once you are inside! Don't bother to take a brolly because it's so windy that you will never keep it up and the locals will give you a look of distain for even trying 🙂

Happy to help if you have any other questions

All the best

Mandy

Just come back on Thursday, had an amazing time, the food was unbelievable and the hotel stunning. Didn't see Northern lights or whales, but blue lagoon and waterfalls just amazing.   You will love it, take plenty of layers and was very cold and wet.   Enjoy this amazing fantastic trip 😉   Karen

Hi Gill,

You'd only need to bring a change of clothes in a bag if you are doing the New Year trip, as I believe those doing it go out to view the fireworks display in the middle of dinner!

You will have a brilliant time - as Mandy says, bring lots of layers and trax for your shoes if you have them - if not, you can get them at Gullfoss.

All the best,

Bob
