Absolutely Daisy.  Don't get them from your GP they are way too expensive..  I got mine from Tesco - you fill in short form and it takes about 10 mins.  Malarone equivalent which is the best one for least side effects - the most likely side effect is a minor tummy upset but compared to malaria it is the better option

Boots also do Malarone. Order and pay online, pick up in store three days later.

Hi Sally,

I've just looked at Boots website and the Malarone are over £3 a tablet! Very expensive! We get free prescriptions here of course (!) and I've done a deal with my local pharmacist for less than £1 a tablet! I will need them for Etosha won't I?

Happy days!

Cheers,

Hils

Hi Hils

Maybe going forward you can start a side line business of selling Malarone tablets since you have done a deal with your local pharmacist! I personally did not take anything when I went to Namibia. I doubt if you will need any. I did not see a single mossie.

Good for you - I hope you have a fantastic time just as I did

Hi Jonah,

I've just booked for the 21st November 2016 trip. Any hints and tips of what to take? I gather it's going to be in the mid 30's?

Hi Wendy

If you search the review section you will find my review Barefoot in Burma which will give you some information and there are a lot of posts from my fellow travellers too.  Have a great time - I would love to be going back.
