Hi

If you are worried about not being to share something you may be encouraged by the post I put on the "Magical Moments" in the section From Just You, here is the link

Well I was hoping to come here and say that I had booked but there seems to be a problem!

The website states there are 8 places left on the 28th May departure so I tried to book and was told my card was declined. I know I have sufficient funds so checked with my bank and they confirmed all was well. Assumed it was a glitch so tried again - declined again!

Called the booking line and was told the booking HAD gone through TWICE but there are no places on the flight from Heathrow so the late bookings team will bet back to me in 3-5 working days to tell me if I can actually go!!

Why does the website say there are 8 places left departing from Heathrow if in fact there might not be any? Does this type of thing happen a lot? To be honest, it isn't giving me a lot of faith in the company, nor did the conversation I had with the lady on the phone who made it sound like it was my fault for not booking earlier!

I am very nervous about this whole thing and to be honest, I feel like cancelling altogether 😞

Hi Rachbclough,

We are naturally concerned to learn of the problems you had when attempting to make a booking with us. In order that we can fully understand why this has occurred it is necessary to speak to our IT Department and they are currently investigating. It is disappointing that having spoken to us, our Holiday Advisor it would seem that they have compounded the situation, please be assured this is not the standard of service that we wish to portray, and as soon as we have an explanation we will be in contact again.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Sylvia,

The link you've posted doesn't work, takes us to your profile rather than the "magical moments" post.

Hi

I know that JY are having problems with the new website, but having said that, being the originator of the thread I think I can remove it, and today I came within a mouse click of doing so.

Well done for hanging in there and succeeding in booking the holiday. Booking the first holiday on your own is a really big deal without all the glitches. However all that is behind you and I hope you have a great holiday. I have made good friends on both of my JY holidays. Enjoy!

Hi,

Is anyone going on the inspirational China trip on the 9th Sept?

Would be great to meet a fellow traveller at Heathrow

Hello everyone, I am another elderly widow, having lost my husband 15 months ago and feeling very alone and lonely. He loved travelling the world and we spent many happy times doing this. I am very much hoping that by managing to pluck up enough courage to contact Just You, albeit for a very short trip to Madrid next month, travelling will seem possible again. I would love to hear from anyone who is going on this trip, whether first-timers or seasoned Just You travellers! Deb

Hi

Yes, I am going on the 9th September and cannot believe how quickly the time is going. Had the last of my 'jabs' today, yipeee! Would be happy to meet up with fellow travellers at Heathrow. My first time with Just You although I have travelled on my own before so it would be nice to meet up with folks before we get on the plane rather than when we are all exhausted after 9 hours on it.

In as big letters as I can manage - Just Do It!

I'm just back from my first ever solo holiday, which took all my bravery to book, and I wish I'd done it years ago. I went to Mijas. Our guide was wonderful. My fellow travellers, a mixture of seasoned Just Youers and Newbies, were great. We were a predominantly female group, but pleasingly the men were all really nice to be around and equally good company. No hidden agendas. No inuendos. It was absolutely super and I shall certainly book with Just You again.

Honestly - take your bravery in both hands and book. You won't regret it.

I just signed up to JY after idly reading a leaflet that fell out of a magazine. I can't actually imagine joining one of these holidays right now, but .... Who knows!

jspring51, I did exactly the same as you. The leaflet fell out of a magazine, I was just about to throw it in the recycling bin, but decided to look at the nice pictures. I noticed a picture of Santorini, which I had visited back in 1980 with my late wife, kept the leaflet on one side, just in case, and eventually plucked up the courage to book the trip to Mykonos and Santorini, from which I have just returned. I was mildly apprehensive about how the people on the trip would interact and how much I would enjoy or hate the experience. Well, it turned out that I needn't have worried one iota. Everyone got on really well, the tour manager Paula was great and the hotels were extremely good. The only complaint I have was that the tour was only eight days. It should have been eight weeks! Go for it!!!

Hi Jspring51. I agree with Mike. I too was a bit apprehensive when I first decided to travel solo. I went ahead and booked my first Just You trip to Jordan in September 2009 and since then have been on a further 8 Just You holidays. Have just returned from Namibia. Every trip has been wonderful and the people on all trips have been friendly. I have had a lot of fun on these holidays and have met some wonderful people.

Hi In the very early stages of this new venture. Im in my fifties and have never been on holiday on my own but jumping in at the deep end and looking into Australia. Always wanted to go - on my wish list. I would like some feedback on this trip and some reassurance from some first timers would be appreciated. Debbie

Hi there

I am now 56 and I have been travelling with JY since 2006 I have been on 11 tours from Austria Tuscany Poland Kenya many USA tours Hong Kong + New Zealand, great tours you see so much and great fun as well, any questions just ask...

I was booked in JY Australia tour but it was cancelled and I couldn't make the date on offer so had to go another way. The country is amazing, Ayres Rock is a very special place and I took a helicopter flight over that, just a wonderful country and lovely people.

So I would say book it and enjoy all that's on offer

Hi Cindy. Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering why JY cancelled the trip. I would be gutted if I had booked and was looking forward to it only to have it cancelled Debbie

Sorry for the delay only just noticed this, it was cancelled due to low numbers I was offered another date but couldnt do the dates.

I have done 11 tours this was the only one cancelled, I have been on a tour where people have joined a tour I am on, please be assured this doesn't happen often..
