Hi there

I've just booked Andalucia on 16th november. This is my 4th JY trip and they've all been brilliant. Is there anyone else travelling from Gatwick? An early start so not much sleep the night before

Hello Fiona

Looing forward to meeting you too.

Jeannie is flying from Gatwick, I'm East Midlands, 10.20, not quite so early but doubt I'll get much sleep.

Hello Fiona

I'm going from Gatwick - it's nice to know that somebody else is leaving from there tooI agree with you about the early start!

You must obviously live in the south of England. I come from Portsmouth. I look forward to meeting you. At least we know of four people going.

I actually live in Aberdeen and wanted to fly from Glasgow but there were no seats left so Gatwick it is. I'm arriving the night before and will barely lay my head on the pillow. You'll hear me snoring on the plane and on the bus to the hotel. I think there are over 40 people on the trip so should be fun.

Hello Dawn

I just looked at departures on the website and it looks like there isn't any availability left on our trip so it should be a good turnout. I hope you find somebody who is leaving from East Midlands.

Hello all.

Yes, me too. Treasures of Andalucia, 16th November, from Newcastle.

This will be my second solo holiday, but the first with JY. Really looking forward to it (even if it is EasyJet from Newcastle).

You look like a friendly bunch already and we're still three months away from the holiday!

John

Hi Jeannie

Yes thank you, so do I, dont fancy doing the journey alone, I'll probably get on the wrong plane! lol

I know there is a rep to see us through check in but what about after?

I've never been to East Midlands Airport so i'm hoping its not a huge place.

Hello Ladies & John

Gosh you all sound ever so excited already, Wish I was coming to, But alas I have just returned from Austria last weekend. I have no doubt that there will be more than the 5 of you on this trip, As you generally find a large propprtion of your fellow travellers will not use this Forum for whatever reason. You can always ask the Editor Olly and enquire as to how many fellow travellers will be accompanying you, But I would have a guess of about 25 upwards. Enjoy your time as it sounds you have already started

Have a good trip

Andy

Hello Andy

Thank you for taking the time to write even though you are not going on this trip.

Apparently there are 40 going but only a few of us using this forum (mainly first timers).

I'm sure we will have a good time once we get over our nerves.

No panicking, I always leave the panicking until the last minute!

My daughter is getting married at the beginning of November, so I'll have lots of other things on my mind - but it does mean ALL the panic will be concentrated into one week :-/

Early flight?? Have I got an early flight?? Well, 07:45 is pretty early by my standards. Fortunately I live only 3 or 4 miles from the airport, but what with the 2-hour recommended check-in time (fat chance!), travel to the airport, getting-up-and-ready time, last minute packing time, safety net for panicking time... It's not worth going to bed

I'm worried I'll miss the first couple of days of holiday while I catch up on sleep!

On a different note, has anyone researched weather, etc?

I think it'll be around 20C or just under, about the same as room/office temperature or a 'pleasant' UK summer day. So probably 'jumper' weather on a scale of T-shirt, Jumper, Jacket, Coat.

I'm more bothered about daylight. Sunrise is about 8 am, sunset about 6 pm, plus around half an hour of twilight.

Oh how lovely, well I hope she has a great day!

Not so much a panic attack, more like a nervous breakdown then.

I had a look at the weather, I agree with you, looks like similar to what we had last week...not exactly warm but not cold either...max 20C. So layers I think and a rain jacket. Min 12C so chilly evenings.

Dont know about daylight hours.....You're not expecting to turn into a vampire after dark are you??:s

Hello John well if it makes you feel any better the Gatwick flight us 07.20! I probably live about 50 miles away so I may get the last train up there the night before. I have relatives in North Shields so I know your part of the world quite well.

You've been busy doing your research - it's useful to know that information.. I haven't had much of a chance yet as I have a job interview next week and I'm preparing for that!

Keep in touch.

Vampire? You cheeky, young lady! Get a shock, though, if I did. It would be the most memorable holiday you'd ever have. 😞 Imagine telling your grandchildren - "Yes, it was way, way back in 2011. Went on holiday to Spain. This bloke turned into a vampire! Tried to bite my neck he did, and he wasn't just being affectionate..."

No, I was thinking how it limits the evening entertainment a bit. No quiet walk on the beach watching the sun set into the sea, for example! OK, yes, yes, we're not by the sea and, no, we probably wouldn't do that anyway. But we won't have the chance in November even if we did want to.

Jeannie - good luck with your job application.
