Hello. I have just joined and am thinking of booking my first single traveller holiday. I'm a bit nervous and would love to hear from anyone who has been in this position.

Hello Paul I thought maybe a short break as it won't be so daunting for a first solo holiday. Jeannie

Don't be nervous - you'll have a great time with whatever holiday you pick. I've done about 10 JY holidays and all have been great.

Age ranges have been from 30's to 70's, women have outnumbered men (don't let this put you off!) Group sizes smallest 13 largest 40

Hi Jeannie,

We have ALL been in your position!! Everyone is nervous the first time. I went on my first JY holiday in 2006 and I'm going on my seventh in September and can't wait! Everyone is on their own like you, so we all want to make friends. You'll meet at the airport and know quite a few people by the time you board the aircraft!!

Get booking!!!

Regards, Pat

Hello to you,

Just pick a holiday that you really fancy and book it, I know it can seem hard to do at first but once that call is made then just settle down and what for the departure date and just go with the flow, people mix in really well together from day one, you do not have to be on your own unless you want to, and then you can have the space if you need it. The tours are very well done and you will be kept up to speed with information etc from the tour rep. There are so many great holidays out there I hope you can find one to suit you. I have done 7 JY tours with NZ booked for 2012. SO if you have any questions feel free to ask away.

Hi Jeannie, I booked my first J/U holiday earlier on in the year going to Highlights of Tuscany in October, by all accounts this seemed to be a good choice, but wherever you go there are always others in the same position, and all report having a wonderful time. Good luck and happy holiday.

Thanks very much for your reply Anna. I feel very encouraged by your response. You obviously have a great time judging by the number of holidays you have booked. I am definitely going to book something within the next week or so.

Thanks for replying Pat. I'm definitely going to book a holiday soon as all the replies I have had have been very positive and it must be worthwhile if you are going on your seventh trip. Where are you going? Not much longer for you to wait.

Hello Cindy. I really appreciate you taking the trouble to reply. I am definitely going to book soon once I can arrange leave from work. It would be great to be in touch with you if OK especially when I think of some questions. Bet you can't wait to go to NZ. Have you been there before.

Thanks once again for replying and hope to speak to you again.

Hello Pat. Really good to hear from you. I probably won't go until November onwards but definitely want to book somewhere soon. Have you got anywhere in mind that you want to go? I am from Portsmouth so I would be leaving from Gatwick. It would be great to hear from you and let me know how you are getting on.

Best wishes.

Wow good for you - you really have jumped in at the deep end. I'm sure you have made the right decision and it will be worthwhile once you get there. All the responses I have had have been very encouraging and all the people you will be going with will be single travellers. Would love to hear from you to see how you get on.

Best wishes.
