Hi There,

I have ALL my holiday days still to take at work and my manager has ordered me to take them before the year ends, yikes!! She recommended JY as she'd used them last year and said she had a great time.

Very nervous about travelling alone and don't want to end up with my head in a book, never leaving my hotel room and wishing for my flight home.

I'd like to take a proper holiday and see some new sights rather than a a quick short break.

Forgive the repetative nature of this post, I know everyone feels the same way, I'm just looking for some advice and re-assurance.

Thanks

J

Hello,

I have just returned from my second Just You trip to Magnificent Lake Garda. I did take a book with me but only read it at night if I could keep my eyes open long enough! We were exhausted- so much sun, fresh air and wonderful sights. We slept in the afternoon if we were back before dinner too early. There was always someone willing to go on trips to the local beach, market etc. Chose this trip as I have never been to Italy. Lost count of all the firsts- Venice, Verona, opera, speaking Italian and of course Italy itself.

I flew out of Birmingham with one other- on our day of departure, we waved to the Gatwick party, then the 4 girls to Manchester which just left us 2 waiting for our car to Milan airport.

My first trip was Jordan and Egypt last year-so glad to have seen these beautiful countries before all the troubles began.

Find a holiday and go with an open mind-you will have so much fun. My next problem is deciding where to go next!

Hi J,

Welcome to Just You.

Firstly - take those holiday days and go and enjoy yourself.

Secondly - you will not be on your own, stuck in your room - that is not what Just You is about.

Everyone of us has taken that first step - and never looked back. We are all there for different reasons but the one thing we have in common is that we want to go on holiday. So choose somewhere you would like to go - and go for it! How difficult is it to get on a plane or a coach?

Your tour manager will take care of you and make sure you don't feel 'left out'. You will meet some smashing people and make new friends of all ages.

I see you have put 'Birmingham' in your post so assume you live in that area - I live in the Midlands too. We don't get as many local airports or connecting flights as other areas but that is not a problem. You can always get to an airport. Another alternative is one of the coach holidays with local pickups. So you see there is nothing to hold you back. There are so many places to go (and so little time). Long-haul, touring - the possibilities are endless. Just go and enjoy yourself - this could be the start of something Big!

Good luck,

Be happy,

Best wishes,

Lesley

I have done 7 JY tours with my 8th Booked for next year. They are great fun and lots to see and do. People mix really well after a very short time. I do take a book just in case I want some quite time, but have only ever read 1 book on all the tours, that was Tuscany this year it was so hot, so was nice to chill out and read for a while. I have done 4 long haul and 3 short haul tours my fist tour was a USA one, so I just jumped in and went for it. If you want to ask any questions please do.

Hi there,

I did my first abroad holiday in May and went to Halkidiki and am due to do a long haul to Canada with the alaska cruise add on and am really looking forward to it - you will only have your head in a book if you choose to do so, I guarantee that. Everyone on my Greek holiday was brilliant and we all mixed in - you can have a "quiet time" to yourself (its sometimes nice to do that for the odd occasion if you're not used to lots of people around all the time) and you can also join in whenever it suits you. Go for it and I'm sure that you won't have any regrets

Take care

Anne

I've done about 10 JY holidays and they have been great.

You can mix with other people if you want or stay on your own. You need to get out of the holiday what you want from it. The age ranges have been anywhere between 30's to late 70's. Women tend to outnumber men. The group sizes on the holidays I've been on have ranged from 13 to 40.

Don't be nervous and choose a destination that appeals to you and you won't go wrong

Just book something you fancy and I'm sure you will have a great time and make some new friends along the way.

Not doing so will leave you wondering what you have missed out on. I've done 4 trips so far and really enjoyed them all.

Hello, I'm travelling from Walsall on the Highlights of Tuscany holiday at the beginning of October. This will be my first J.U. trip, but by all accounts everyone seems to have a good time wherever they go. Just take the plunge and book somewhere you fancy.I booked this one as I have never been to Italy, and have always wanted a trip to Florence.

Good luck Dave
