Hi.. Im 25, newly single and have never been on a plane before. I found this site and all the wonderful sounding holidays and thought i would try it out (if i build up the courage!)

I would be interested in the coach / train only trips as im not up for flying just yet. Is there anyone out there round the same age as me (or not) who has been before and could provide some advice?

Well here is the PUSH you need......

I have been on many JY holidays but have allways flown, I do not like flying TBH, but I have travelled all around this world of ours, as I love to travel.

I started going on these holidays in my middle 40's..the age range can be very varied form lt 20's to 80's, more ladies then men. It can be a bit scary, but every one is in the same position, and people gel together from early on,so find a holiday you like the look of and go FOR IT! I am sure you will have a great time..

Hey Charlie

I'm kelly i'm 26 (27 year this year) so not too far away from your age lol. I'm a bit like you in the fact that I really want to book one of these holiday but just need the courage to do it. I've been on a plane a few times although the longest flight I have been on was only 3 1/2 hours. I would really like to go to Canada although there are so many other places I would like to go to just that Canada is on the top of my list at the moment. Where abouts are you from?

Hope to hear from you soon.

KEL

I think somewhere in europe but will have to take a closer look at the options and see what one stands out to me!

Thanks again

I'm also travelling alone for the first time, altho' a lot older than you. I love flying - it is a wonderful experience. Prob is the reliability of flights just now. It is holding me back from booking any hol abroad at the moment. I'll watch this space and maybe book for this year in Sept. Otherwise will wait for the flights situ to calm down. But will definitely use this site for a hol sometime. They seem like a fun bunch without the dating pressure of other singles hols.

Hi Charlie,

I, like you, was keen to go on a 'Just You' holiday but had never travelled alone before. I decided to try a Discovery Weekend at first which I can really recommend. After that, I took the plunge and booked the Barcelona/Catalonia trip but went for the 6 day option rather than the 8 in case I didn't enjoy it! I had such a great time I wish I'd chosen the 8 days after all!

You are well looked after, and you never feel alone as everyone is in the same boat and there's always someone to chat to or hang around with. There isn't that awkward situation of being the only one when everyone else is in pairs!

I suggest trying a short holiday or Discovery Weekend to start with and you will feel more confident with Canada later on.

Good Luck.

Hi Charlie,

I went on my first JY holiday last year to America's golden West. It was the best move I ever made. I'd been thinking about it for years before plucking up the courage to do it. Now I'm cross for wasting all those years when I could have been having fab holidays. The age range was from 20s to 70s but everyone got on well, everyone is in the same boat so to speak. I'm going on the South African Explorer this September and I can't wait.

Go ahead be brave, you won't regret it.
