I know you can't get rupees until arrival but is it best to take cash to exchange or to get it from an ATM with a card? 

I imagine you can pay with a card in many places but that cash will still be needed for tips, markets etc.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks for getting in touch. As rates are changing all the time we would recommend using a combination of both cash and card while travelling and your Holiday Director will point you in the right direction of the best places to take out cash/exchange currency during the tour.
