I really do understand how you feel. When I eventually took the plunge and booked my first solo trip I spent the week before departure hoping JY would cancel it. I really was that nervous!!

But just look at how many of us come back for more and more. You will be in a group of like minded people and everyone is keen to mix, I made 2 friends on that first trip some 8 or 9 years ago and we still keep in touch.

I'd suggest that you find a holiday that really appeals, ideally one where all dinners are included as it's your first solo trip, then just book it. You won't regret it, I've lost count of the number of solo holdays I've done now but I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every one.

Happy travels

Rose

Hi there Jacques,

I saw you had posted twice but no replies so here is mine!

I was widowed 3yrs ago come August and am about to do my 3rd JY trip as well as having travelled independently myself and my first trip in July 2022 was with Riviera Solo travel.

It is one of the best things Ive done since being widowed - just to prove to myself I could and that theres life still to live [ I was only 57yrs when hubby died ]

JY really do look after you so there is nothing to worry about at all- choose your trip then get to see places you want to see / do the things you want to do there and share the experience with others who want to see them too for the same reasons you do!!

The JY tour directors are experienced , supportive and caring in their comprehensive way to all the clients so you need never feel alone.

As in life there may be others you dont align with but thats few and far between in my experience and so you'll always find someone to match up with to enjoy the journey with and help you. I met a wonderful group of people whilst doing the America Western Wonders trip last year and 4 of us have stayed friends since enjoying a Dublin weekend then a very recent trip to Sorrento!

Im sure it'll be a  a win win for you so hesitate no longer - choose and book!

And I really hope you enjoy it!

All the best

Karen

Hi Jacques

I would really recommend that you book a holiday with Just You. I am also a widow and I have been on 5 wonderful trips with Just You. I agree that it is difficult to pluck up courage to book a holiday on your own. But on these trips the people on them are friendly and welcoming and everything is very well organised. There are so many holidays available. You will have a great time. I am soon going on my 6th trip. Louise.

Hi Jacques

I've been a widow for about 18months.  I hated the idea of going on holiday on my own, but so many people have recommended a Solos holiday, and having had a look round at some destinations, I decided to give it a try on the basis that if I didn't like it, I wouldn't do it again.  So anyway I'm off to Slovenia in a couple of weeks, and keeping everything crossed that it will be ok.  I'll let you know!

Regards

Melanie

i am also a widow and it will be the first time for me doing this type of holiday. Flying out to Spain on 3rd October and staying in Mijas.  I am nervous too but sure will meet other like minded people. Mijas is lovely and if we don't try we will never know. Take the plunge like me and book up.

Hi there. I have just taken the plunge and booked my first solo holiday to Japan next April. I was widowed in April this year after 30 years marriage so I am feeling very nervous about the trip but hopefully it will go well and I will meet some lovely people. If anyone has done this trip I would love to hear from you!

Hello Jacques, I am recently a widower , my wife and I loved to travel. I still want to continue as she would want me to do it. I have not booked a trip yet but will in a couple of months. It will be sad at times but I feel it will be ok . I look forward to hearing how your experience was after you travel.

Marie, got my travel documents for Mijas on the 3rd October. So it now feels a lot closer. Looking forward to a holiday away from home but nervous about my first trip with Just You. Any other members on the form on the same weeks holiday. Our pink luggage labels should stand out when we reach Malaga airport. Hope all the incoming flights are on time. Norma Mac
