Hi Julia/Elisa

Just wondering how the bookings are going for this trip and if we are any nearer to a green light?

Many thanks

Hi Jonah,

There are still only 5 people booked in the Kerala holiday for February 2017 but bare in mind our September brochure hasn't landed yet and we thinks that will make a difference.

Kind regards,

Elisa

Hi Jonah

I did this trip last year and really enjoyed it. Very different from the Spirit of India tour.

Hope your holiday goes ahead.

To give you a flavour of what to expect I suggest you log into a website created by our Tour Manager Caroline ; every journey with caroline.co.uk where she has an article about Kerala.

Regards

Lesley

Hi Dave

Glad you enjoyed Caroline's travel blogs. I really fancy the Kashmir trip but will have to put it after South Africa, Sri Lanka and Burma!

Hi Lesley

Thanks Lesley, thanks for the guidance to Carolines website, I've just had a look as I've been thinking about Kerala for my next holiday having done the Golden Triangle three years ago and since been wanting to see the "other side of India". Carolines guide is really helpful and well written and I think I'll be booking before long.

 Best wishes Sue

Hi Sue,

It would be great if you could book the February 23rd tour - it is a super time to go! I too have done the Spirit of India trip, but Kerala is very different, I gather. More laid back, and hopefully we will see elephants as well.

Hope to see you then!

Cheers,

Hils

Hi Sue

Can thoroughly recommended Kerala. Very different from northern India and holiday is more relaxed. I would love to visit other parts of India and hope JY include Kashmir at some point.

Looking at the visa delays I think I will have to leave Kerala to 2018 now.

Hi Ev,

I think you can do the Indian visa online - I hope so as I am booked for Kerala in February!

Why not book for 2017?!

Cheers,

Hils

Hi Hils

Thanks for your comments. I really do hope I can go. Need to wait another month or so before finally deciding as I had a hip replacement only 4 weeks ago and want to make sure I will be completely ok for that sort of trip by then. Progress so far has been amazing so it's looking good. Any advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation would be welcome.

 Hopefully see you in February

Best wishes Sue

Hi Sue,

You are talking to the right person here! I had a full hip replacement at the very end of April last year, and the first holiday I went on was to Calabria at the end of September, so say 5 months after my op. Before I booked the Italy trip I checked on the Forum asking questions about steps/slopes/rough ground at the hotel etc. - all of which it had, and I managed fine. I have since been to Italy, Austria, Burma and Borneo & the Orkneys (!) - I do take a stick, but have rarely had to use it. One handy thing to take is a stick-on handle for the wall of a shower/bath (you can get them on Amazon) - just makes you feel more secure, and especially if the shower is over a high bath. It depends what kind of hip replacement you had - I had a ceramic one and was on crutches for 6 weeks. I was worried about getting in and out of boats/planes/trains, especially in Burma, but was absolutely fine - if I'm offered a helping hand, I now take it!!

I hope this helps and hopefully see you in February! Any other questions, just ask!

Cheers,

Hils

Just back from my Italy holiday and thoughts turning to the next one.  How are the numbers for this trip going - any nearer to a green light so that I can start sorting my travel arrangements to Heathrow.

Many thanks

Hi Jonah,

This doesn't have the green light just yet. I have spoken to a colleague, who has said that based on last years numbers, while she can't confirm it this week, she is quietly confident that it should go ahead.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Many thanks
