Hello, I don't have an e-mail address for JY and would really appreciate someone e-mailing me details of how to get from Heathrow T4 to T5 quickly. I'm not great with the internet but I've tried my best to find airport maps/transport details etc. and it's all so confusing with buses, trains, undergrounds etc.. I've been reading some reviews that say I will not have enough time to connect to my homeward flight after my holiday, as I will need to collect my luggage on arrival at T4 before transferring to T5. When I booked my homeward connection with JY I was told there would be plenty of time but I am not familiar with Heathrow and understand that T4 and T5 are at opposite ends of the airport. I've been trying to keep calm about the whole holiday but I am really starting to panic about Heathrow now and it will totally ruin my holiday if I am unable to get some clear transit instructions before my holiday. I was told that airport staff are always available to assist but that was not the case when I returned from my last holiday and all I was trying to do then was find my way through T5 from arrivals to departures in the same terminal! My booking ref. is ****** departing on tour SEICAI on Sept 7. Please could you pass my concerns onto an appropriate person and ask them to e-mail me (please don't phone as I will need some written instructions). Thank you very much in advance.

Hi there sookie222,

I apologise for the long reply as you need a quick answer - I hope with 6 days left you will have long enough to prepare.

http://www.heathrow.com/airport-guide/getting-around-heathrow/travel-between-terminals  you will be able to see instructions for transfers between terminal 4 and 5. I will send you a quick email so you have reference to the directions.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hello Sookie,

I was one of the original volunteers who tested the T5. We spent all day testing the system to make sure that there was never going to be any problems with how it worked.

We were given a crib sheet with who we were and the flights we were leaving on. We then had to print our tickets and make our way with suitcases to check in desks. Make our way to the gates including using the train system. We were then met with another crib sheet as passengers arriving. The highlight was actually boarding a plane in Club class, taxiing from the gate, the flight was to Nice-thought we were really going to fly, sadly not :(

Hopefully the instructions that Monty has given you has helped and you will have a great holiday

Hi Janib, that must have been a fascinating experience for you. I have travelled from Terminal 5 once with JY so would have felt comfortable doing that again. It's doing something for the first time, alone, that makes me so nervous and worried that I won't get there in time for check-in. I have since spoken to someone local who travels to Heathrow regularly so they have explained everything to me and I'm feeling happier now. I depart from Terminal 4 early morning and was expecting to get a Hoppa bus from the hotel, as talked with JY a while back, but have only just discovered that the Hoppa doesn't go to Terminal 4 and in fact the buses don't start running until a bit later which would make me late for check-in by the time I transferred to the correct train and found the correct departure area - so think I need to get a taxi! When Terminal 4 is not as easy to get to as the other terminals, it would have been helpful if JY had provided some up-front guidance. If I had booked with any other travel company I would have expected to do all transfer investigations by myself - I booked with JY thinking there would be nothing to worry about from the minute I boarded the plane at Newcastle, that hasn't been the case unfortunately. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in Terminal 4 because I'm sure the rest of the experience will be fabulous, JY seem very organised with that part of the process.
