Have just found out that there is no lounge for us travelling to Vietnam 17th Sep. It has been closed for a while but I was not informed at time of booking. I am travelling down from Manchester early morning and was looking forward to resting and have breakfast in the peace and quiet of the lounge. I would have booked a hotel overnight had I known. I assume you will reserve a place for us to be together with a rep in the terminal as I don't want to be on my own. When I went to Cuba last year I didn't see a JY rep until I was in the lounge. Let everyone else know as I know a lot have a long way to travel before Heathrow. I only found out when I rang up JY to check on which lounge to book for my return. You usually are so well organised and keep us informed of everything. Tricia

Good morning Tricia,

I'm sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your arrangements up to now, would you be kind enough to send me your booking reference number please?

Kindest,

Ben

Good morning Tricia,

I have just learnt that the Terminal 4 lounge has in fact been closed by the airport, at the time of booking it was available but the airport operator has closed it, for reasons I am not too sure about, as a result you are being refunded the cost of this and I'm advised you will receive a letter shortly stating more details and the refund as appropriate,

I hope this helps, I can only apologise on behalf of the airport,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I sent a post of the same nature yesterday afternoon. Does that mean everyone will be getting a refund for this and do you know how much it will be. I rang Customer Services yesterday and they have told me there is also another optional trip on the way back into Kuala Lumpur as there is a five hour gap before the next flight to Heathrow. I take it this is because the T4 lounge is closed. This trip costs £62 so if I was going to take this up I would like to know how much I would get to go towards this.

Many Thanks

Anita

Hello Anita,

Thanks for getting in touch, I don't know what the refund will be as of now, apologies. Customer services are arranging the letters today. I wouldn't of thought the T4 lounge being closed would have any bearing on the flight change, that will have been an operational decision by the airline, I don't believe you spend anytime in the airport lounge upon your return anyhow, I think the excursion will have been arranged purely due to the change in flight timings.

I hope this helps,

Kindest,

Ben

Hi Ben

Havn't heard anything about the Kuala Lumpur extra trip will the information be in the letter I get from customer services when I get my refund.? I spoke to them the other day and they never mentioned it. How do I go about booking this trip?

I'm doing the National Parks, Canyons and Little Big Horn trip in September which apparently also included use of the Executive Lounge in T4 at Heathrow.

However I received a letter from JY a week ago which apologised for the closure and I was given a refund of £15 which was most appreciated.

Although obviously disappointing I don't see the closure as being a major problem and it certainly won't spoil my holiday. It just means I'll have to be more observant in looking out for the JY luggage labels!!

Hi Tricia,

Yes you will receive a refund along with a letter in due course, in respect of the excursion, I have no access to the system that our contact advisers do, can I suggest a call into our contact centre to discuss the excursion with one of our advisers, they have all the information to hand,

Kindest,

Ben

To all

A lounge before you go is a nice start but it is not the be all or end all for me it's the holiday and the people that make the holiday and you will gt to know them all soon enough.

I think I must be different to most travellers as I am a great chatter and sociable person but NOT at an airport, I like to be calm and quiet about the only time I am!!! and I just get into the flight zone and get on the plane, it's when I land that I come to life. I know not every one is the same and I can understand most people like the security of the lounge before hand.

Just look out for JY labels on bags or maybe the JY rep at booking in will let you wait till another JY traveller goes through then you can tag along with that person.
