Hi Julia

I received the final documents for the above trip, but, the flight code does not work on American Airlines website, either by the code or logging on with my AA number.

My holiday reference is A******.

Please would you confirm that the flight code is correct.

Thanks

Keith

Hi Keith,

I have dropped you an email with the reference number that I have been provided for your booking. Please not that you may not be able to log in yet as you are still a number of weeks from departure.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hello Julia,

Paperwork arrived this am. Looked up terminal 3 and the Servisair lounge does not exist, all the other lounges do. I see that we cannot book our own seats until we are at the airport. I always like window seats and I know from previous flights, seats are booked for us by the TM. I managed to change my seat for the flight to Milan and Lake Garda as I booked in at Birmingham Airport.

Hi Jan,

I've found these directions for you on the Serisair website:

* After security follow signs to Gate 1-42 for All Airline Lounges.

* Bear left and continue to follow signs for All Airline Lounges.

* Turn left and follow signs to Gates 1-22 and lounges B-J

* Turn right towards gates 12-42 Airline Lounges F-1

* Immediately on left sign for Lounge F.

* Follow corridor, turn right and take either the lift or steps up one floor.

* Follow corridor on right to the Servisair lounge

I hope you enjoy your upcoming trip.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Everyone

I did this trip in September and it was amazzzzzing!!! Just thought I would mention......you need to take photographic ID with you. The copy of my passport wasn't enough for the streetcar in New Orleans and you definitely need ID in Memphis for Beale Street. I wish I'd taken my bus pass!!!!!! Have a great time, I'm sure you will

Regards Wendy

Thanks Wendy,

Good advice  I know they can be very keen in America in some cities.

I usually keep my photo driving licence in my wallet and it does the job.

Thank you Wendy for your update on the trip. Like Mick, I always keep my driving licence in my purse. Love Beale Street, did you go over the river into Arkansas, an extra fridge magnet

I wasn't planning on taking my driving licence (going on 20th October) - just my passport - is the point of this to prove an age thing as I look older than 21 - nobody ever bats an eyelid when I order alcohol - but not quite old enough to get a bus pass. I'm confused by the ID thing in Memphis - is my passport not enough??

Julie, You need id to get in some places and they ask everyone if they are on a purge, i'm definately well over 21 but still get asked.

A friend who is mid forties was refused entry on one visit because he didn't have id.

As silly as it sounds i heard a story that the reason for asking everyone is because somebody sued a bar for not asking them, hard to believe but it is America.

Years ago,one of my friends, admitly looking young for his age, showed his passport as proof of identity, and was refused service,as the server was programmed to ask for a US driving licence.

Seriously, you just don't know when,or what, you may be asked for i.d., some places ask anytime you use a credit card, for any amount.

Another friend showed his MCC members pass,to buy Amtrak tickets, and that was accepted as it had his photo and address on it.

Just updated my driving licence which is lucky as my passport photo does not look like me at all :P

See you in 2 weeks :)

Hello All,

I have just put a comment onto the group sizes, as I have just looked up our hotels on Trip Advisor. I have stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in Memphis so I know it well. Chicago and St Louis though are new to me so I do not like the idea of recent guests saying 'do not go there' especially to St Louis :(

Do we get the free breakfast in New Orleans?

Hi Jan,

I've just had a chat with our Customer Care team to find out if any of our travellers in September had issues with any of the hotels on this trip. We took two groups out in September on the 7th and 21st and the team haven't received any negative comments regarding these. I've also taken a quick look through the Feefo feedback, one comment was made about the check in time at one hotel but again there have been no comments which would cause us to be concerned.

The brochure states that you have 10 nights' accommodation with breakfast.

Not long until you go now - I hope you have a great trip.

Kindest regards.

Julia

Thanks Julia for the update. As Mick said he would rather small and in town then large and outside. Holiday with another company placed us in Mariette, long way out of Atlanta that you would need a taxi, boring at night so a lot of American tv watched 😞 However in New Orleans we stayed at Orleans Hotel near Bourbon Street, I went on the Haunted Tour and had a great time
