At what point is the green light given for a tour to go ahead? I know it's dependent on the number of travellers but my main concern is re the visa. I had one tour that had to change dates a few years ago (which I couldn't do) but was told quite early on. However, if it gets near the date of departure, how do I stand re my visa? Would I be notified before my application is sent off? If it has already been sent, would that visa still be issued and would it be valid to use with a different booking agent ? If it was short notice I may not have time to arrange another visa.

Sorry for the negativity, it's just that I'm desperate to do this tour of China (booked for Aug '15)

Hi Jayne,

We try to make a decision as soon as possible as to whether or not a tour will operate. We do try to opearate as many holidays as possible as we certainly don't want our customers to be disappointed. A final decision will be made by the team, at the latest, about 12 weeks before departure.

This 12 weeks provides enough time to obtain the Visa. If Just You are arranging this for you, it takes about 4 weeks for the China visa from when we receive your passport.

To be positive, China is a very popular destination with solo travellers and looking at the dates for this autumn, only one date was cancelled (at a very early stage) for the Inspirational China tour due to major flight changes - an alternative date was put on sale for 2 days later and has been cleared to operate.
