Hi Mildred.

I just wanted to say thank you to James in Customer Services for alerting me so quickly to the cancellation of The Imperial Cities of the Danube River Cruise, 17th November departure, and for his sympathy. 

Unfortunately I cannot take the alternative date, which is a real shame.  I understand that this cancellation is not down to JY.  Fortunately, I had not as yet booked my travel down to Heathrow, and the cost of the overnight hotel at Heathrow is fairly minimal, or it could have been worse. 

I will await my cancellation cheque in due course

I am very sorry to hear that. You will most definitely be missed on that holiday!

I have spoken with the customer service team and I have been told that you will get your cancellation refund next week and that's only if you send in a copy of your cancellation invoice from Premier Inn confirming that it is non-refundable; then we may consider some form of refund for your unused hotel.

Thank you Mildred.  I can send in a paper copy of the hotel booking, or via email. It may only be a small amount but consideration of some kind of refund would be nice.  It confirms on the paperwork that I cannot cancel.  If this is in order could you let me have an email address to send it, if that is in order?

Also, and I do not want this to sound mercenary 🙂 , but I was told that I had a small discount "goodwill|" voucher" from a previous trip, because of problems there, which instead of being sent to me was put against the balance of this holiday.  I haven't, obviously been able to use it now.   Is it in order for me to use this (if it is sent to me separately) for a booking for next year?
