Julia,

Could you update me on the numbers for the Heart and Soul trip in November as I know its popular.

What is also the limit.

Was recommending to someone who showed interest but wont know for a couple of months whether they can do it so said i'd ask how bookings are going.

Has a tour manager been selected yet ?

thanks

Mick

Hi Mick,

This has been a popular addition to the Just You programme - all dates have good numbers on them at the minute and we still have several months to go!

For your particular departure, there are now 19 travellers booked and we can take up to 40.

The tour has been given the green light to operate but the Tour Manager has not yet been allocated.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Mick,

Is Route 61 a new thing? I thought the old route across America was Route 66.

Hello Eric,

This Route 61 goes from top to bottom- Chicago to New Orleans. I adore Blues and am waiting for November 3rd

Eric,

Route 61 is the road that follows the Mississippi from New Orleans to the north. Its Americas heart & soul holiday (chicago to New Orleans via St Louis & Memphis) that we are on.

Its also known as the Blues highway because its the route followed back in the day by many Blues musicians such as Muddy Waters & Howlin Wolf from the Delta to Chicago where they made their names.

As a Blues fan its something i've wanted to do.

Hi Julia,

Just a query on flight times.

The website states 1-15pm but the paperwork I've been sent says its 12-50pm. I know nothing is final but at this moment in time which is correct.

Have noticed that the times quoted on the website is 10-15am, now if you do requests (or can you suggest to Will or who deals with it) can we go at that time, much rather get to Chicago earlier as planning a Irish Pub & music Club first night to get the hol off to a great start. Certainly don't want any later flights, wouldn't be happy to lose a night off the holiday.

Any increase on the 24 booked ?

Hi Mick,

The time I can see in the reservations system is listed as 13:15 - but as you've mentioned this is not final and all flight times will be confirmed in your final documents. The 10:15 time quoted on the website is for the 2015 dates.

Numbers are up by 2 so there are 26 now booked on this date.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Like Mick, also not happy by the later flight times for what seems a great musical extravaganza . It does mean that I can get a later coach up to the airport though :P

Fear not Jan, remember once going to Chicago with a couple of friends and arriving at hotel at 9pm, went out at 10pm for something to eat and a couple of music clubs later hit the sack at 4am. Always somewhere to go in the Windy City.

Seriously think best plan for first night after we settled in hotel is a cracking Irish Pub (eat there) I know followed by a Blues Club which is virtually next door to the Pub I'm thinking. About 10 min walk from hotel

Julia,

I'm not happy this morning as I've just recieved some updated paperwork and despite stating back in June on here and speaking to your customer service people about prefering to get to Chicago earlier the flight timeshave gone back again.

Its actually now saying it goes at 14-25 and doesn't arrive until 17-10, this is now looking likely to impact the first night of the holiday as given my previous experiences of getting through security at Chicago (at least 90mins to get everyone through) and an hour journey to the hotel i suspect its going to be gone 8pm when we get to our rooms.

The holiday states that there is an option for everyone to go for a deep pan pizza first night and although I've other plans to eat that night i'm sure many people wont want to be going out for a meal after they freshen up and get unpacked. The earliest people are going to be ready is 9pm and thats assuming everything runs smoothly.

Why arn't we doing the morning flight like is advertised for the 2015 holidays, your customer service person tld me back in June this would be looked into.

To me I consider this a day lost from the holiday and am not happy with JY scheduling.

Julia,

To add to me last post the AA87 leaves Heathrow at 9-55am which would be a much better option as people would get to the hotel in decent time for a good rest before and maybe a walk around before enjoying a nice evening with a good meal.

For the record I've checked and there are currently 75 seats available on this flight in economy.

I cant speak for others but i would prefer to be transferred to this flight and would be happy to find my own way to the hotel. Its only around $2 on the subway a journey I've done many times so not a problem for me.

If this option was possible I'm sure if others were asked some would be happy to join me, I know a number of us are staying over at heathrow so are going to be sat there twiddling our thumbs all morning.

Mick
