hi

I'm thinking of doing Route 66 next year.. has anyone done this? it looks good... and as I really enjoyed Tuscany, I'm going to go further afield!

my only concern is - can you choice your seat on the long haul flight? having flown long haul a few times, I'm a bit fussy about where I sit!

Think you can only choose your seat if you pay for an upgrade (may be wrong though)

Suggest you get to check in early and ask for what you prefer but although it increases your chances it offers no guarentees.

if you ring your booking through you can request a certain position ie window aisle that sorted thing they will try for you but cannot guarantee this...I always do what Mick suggest get there early and try and see what you can achieve face to face.

JY do a block booking on seats but this does not mean the group are all sitting together. It's does not bother me, as I just like to chill out with the iPod and films etc...

I do know the Route 66 tour had been popular, it is not one I have done, I have done 9 including the Tuscany tour that you have done. If I can help with anything just ask.

Hi, I did Route 66 this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I learnt more about America in that fortnight than in my 61 years. You are on the go a lot and sometimes it can be tiring but it is well worth it and lots of fun. Richard was our excellent guide who even took us to some places not on our schedule, like a restored theatre and the Hollywood Bowl. Go for it, you won't regret it.
