Could you tell me the price of the optional tours on this holiday and I gather dinner is not included on most days. I had a great time in Uzbekhistan with Tami and am thinking of trying South Africa this Spring. Who is likely to be the leader or is it too soon to say.

Thanks

Hi Jane

Breakfast and dinner is included every day except Day 7, when you will receive an included lunch instead. So on most days, you will need some money to buy your lunch.

We haven't appointed a tour manager yet but if you can write again in the New Year, I should be able to let you know.

I've copied information about current optional excursions below. These details are for holidays departing this year but should give you a good guide to how much they will cost and what's available. You will receive up-to-date information on excursions around three months before departure and again two weeks before you fly.

Kind regards

Olly, your editor

Hi Olly,

I was rather interested in your reply to Jane regarding meals and excursions for the South Africa Explorer holiday.

I am booked to go on this holiday with the Victoria Falls Add On departing on 21st September this year. I have read the itinery online and it is not clear what meals are included on any given day. Can you definately confirm that Breakfast and dinner is included every day except Day 7, when we will receive an included lunch instead.

Also what are the meal arrangements for the add on.

I note you also mention about receiving up-to-date information on excursions around three months before departure and again two weeks before you fly. However it is now only 7 weeks before my departure date and I have not received anything about optional excursions. In fact I have not received any comunication from Just You since I sent a cheque for the balance of the cost.

It would be nice to receive more details about the holiday ie names of hotels, excursions and payment, etc other than what is available online. Can you give an idea when this might be received.

Many thanks

Mike (booking ref ***)

Hi Olly,

Many thanks for the confirmation regarding meal arrangements.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised and did not realize most meals were included. It certainly helps to know when trying to calculate the amount of spending money I will require.

I know there is already a lot of information given in the online itinery but I think it would be useful to mention which meals are included.

Hi Olly,

what is the itinerary for the Vic Falls add-on? Is a day trip/safari into Botswana still an option? Can we pay for some of the expensive optional excursions by credit card, like the plane ride over the Falls etc? Otherwise we'll need to keep on visiting ATMs or bring loads of dollars etc with us!

Many thanks for the info Olly, will we be able to use ATM machines in both South Africa and Zambia? I'll tell my bank before I go. Perhaps we will be able to pay for flights - helicopter or microlight with credit cards like we did for the Grand Canyon??

Hi Bob

I expect you will be fine using your cards - it's usually possible these days. The best thing to do is check with your bank / card issuer when you notify them of your travel plans.

It sounds like all payments must be in cash for these excursions but it's worth taking your credit card anyway.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

I have still not received the three month information which is a shame as I'm sure I would have found it particularly interesting when trying to plan my excursions.
