Hi - i'm going to China on 26th April tour.

I'm trying to decide on money options. I do not want to take travellers checks. Is it acceptable to take US dollars in cash form or is taking Chinese Yuan sufficient.

Also I haven't been asked to send in my passport so I'm taking it that my visa will be on a group visa?

many thanks

David

Hi David

I would take Chinese Yuan in cash, as it can be a nuisance having to change money while you are away. You are allowed to take up to 6,000 yuan with you, which is around £400. Remember that all your meals are included, so you probably won't need a lot of spending money. It's a good idea to take your debit and credit cards so you can withdraw more money if you need it, but remember to let your bank know your travel plans.

You will be on a group visa if you haven't heard otherwise. You should also have received an application pack by now, so please call us on 0844 567 8844 if you haven't.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor
