I visited Uganda back in January 2020, just before covid, although not with JY. I think this might the first departure for this tour, previous departures having been cancelled due to the pandemic. Anyway, I wrote a piece in the review section entitled ‘Uganda thoughts & memories’ which covered my experiences of the country together with some hopefully helpful tips. It wasn’t a review of my holiday as such because, as I say, it wasn’t with JY so I didn’t go into specifics regarding hotels etc although my itinerary did resemble JY’s ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ in many respects.

fantastic to hear your Feb Uganda trip is a GO !

I’ve been waiting eagerly to see if it was still going to go ahead, so that’s great news.

I booked to go in June ‘20 and it’s been put back and put back, but hopefully I’ll make it this June !

When I booked originally I was going to be one of the guinea pigs. It looks like you’ve earned that tag now !

As Mike says, there are some informative threads on the forum and his gives a good insight.

This looks such a great trip I can’t wait.

Please post a review on your return as I think there are many of us keen to know what to expect !

Just wondering if anyone else on here is going to Uganda next month? Hadn’t dared believe it might actually happen (originally booked for last year) until I got an email from JY today! Guess it’s actually time to start my preparations …! Have read some helpful previous reviews on here, but would love to hear from anyone going or top tips from those who’ve done this trip previously. Will be my first long-haul trip since Cambodia & Laos (with Vietnam add-on) in November 2019 and first with JY since Norway in March 2020, so first proper holiday under covid regulations - though I did have a great week in Madrid visiting my cousin over Christmas last year! Thank you.

Just trying to work through all the info we’ve been sent to make sure I have everything under control - with all the Covid requirements, visa, etc there is *so* much more to think about!! I can’t believe we’re actually going either. This will be my 7th JY holiday, and all have been great. I look forward to meeting you in the lounge at Heathrow on the 18th …!
