Hello All,

I have booked and am looking forward to my next JY holiday

BUT unfortunately I have recently had a heart attack, so now

I need extra medical holiday insurance, I would be very

grateful for any advice or guidance for reasonable

medical insurance companies who don't charge sky high prices.

or can anyone recommend a company they use and are happy with?

Dave.

Hi Dave

I am really sorry to hear about your attack and glad to know you have recovered.  it would be worth investing £2 in a trial Which subscription which will give you access to their surveys.  I am sure that I saw something on travel insurance when I did this recently - I was looking at pension information!!.

Good luck and I hope you have a great holiday.

Regards

Hi Dave

I found the Which magazine site very helpful in this respect (especially as they aren't linked to any particular company).  To get detailed info from them you usually have to sign up for a month free trial which costs £1. It's money well spent so long as you remember to cancel once you've found what you need.

Hi Dave

I am not sure if different medical conditions attract different excess charges but I have to declare a pre-existing medical condition. I have used a number of different companies in the past but recently chose Debenhams travel insurance as it was much cheaper. Provides same level of cover as other much more expensive policies.

Hope this helps

Try Insuratrip or go onto compare the price . com, feed in your details, and they will come up with the best offers.

Try www.insurewith.com

They specialise in pre existing medical conditions.

My husband always insures with them.

Hello Dave,

I use Staysure as I declare my existing medical condition. You could try comparison sites first to see  which gives proper insurance cover at less price.

I see the travel nurse at my surgery a month before the holiday to check whether I need vaccination or special medicine.

Have a great holiday.

Hi Dave

So sorry to hear about your heart attack. I sincerely hope you are on the road to a full recovery. I use Insure and Go and find them reasonable. Give them a go.

Hello Dave,

Hope you are recovering well. I am with Allclear, I paid £165 for the whole World with 3 different conditions for the year. I needed it for Singapore and New Zealand last year.
