Hi. I have just joined and am thinking about booking Wild Borneo this Oct 2017. Is anyone on the forum joining that tour?

Cheers!

Hi Sue, I did this tour in May last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Hope you do the Singapore add-on as well, it was the icing on the cake!

Cheers,

Bob

Good Afternoon Sue,

Climate & Clothing

Borneo has a typical tropical climate - generally hot and humid throughout the year. As in most tropical areas the rain falls in short heavy bursts with sunshine following. In theory, the wet season runs from November through to February, but in reality we find little difference in the seasons. It is very rare that our itineraries are affected.

Casual lightweight clothes including a sunhat are recommended throughout the tour. It is also usual to remove your shoes at several restaurants.

Comfortable and well broken in trekking shoes are essential but we would suggest that you also pack light sandals and a pair of comfortable trainers.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Thank you Mildred

I'm guessing a waterproof jacket will be needed.

Are trousers best for evening wear to keep mossies at bay? I'm loving the casual bit! Sounds very laid back!

Kind regards

Good Morning Sue,

It is always safer to have a waterproof jacket just in case and the same goes for trousers.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Sue

That was my first trip last November. The best holiday I've ever had. you'll love it. If I were you I'd by those disposable poncho's to put in your bag. Whatch the slippery wood after it has rained and get down to the fish market for a meal or two the food is wonderful...dont go on looks though. lol. If you get a chance can you bring me some hazelnut coffee back from the supermarket.lol. It is divine.

Hi Ian

Thank you for your advice , any info gratefully received as planning for the trip is part of the fun and makes the whole experience better. Where is the fish market ? It sounds fab and I love eating fish as well as experiencing the whole atmosphere of the country I'm visiting. Can't wait! I'll look for the coffee!!

Hi Sue

it is just before and after your trip into the rain forest at Sandakan (four seasons hotel). You have to pick your own fish from the stall and they cook it and bring it to your table. You can find the coffee in the supermarkets at Sandakan.
