Hi All,

I've just booked this trip with the Zambia add on - is anyone coming with me?! It's early days yet but hoping some forum users will be coming along.

I've been reading the reviews from previous trips and it sounds like a fantastic holiday. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It'll be my second JY trip, I really enjoyed New Zealand last year.

Hi Jellifer

I have booked this trip for September 2016 and will post a review on my return. This is a fantastic trip and I am so excited that am already counting the days!

I did this trip last November and had a really great time.

I would recommend that you go to Robben island on the free afternoon in Cape Town. I would advise you to book online before you go although a lot of people managed to book through the hotel. This is not an official trip so you would need to book it yourself.

Taxis cost about £5 one way and 4 of us shared so it only cost us £1.25 each (one way).

Tickets cost R300 (about £14).

If the sea is at all choppy do not sit outside.

Hi Jaya - really looking forward to your review, I hope you have a fabulous time!

Davidj - many thanks for the tips RE Robben Island, I'd love to go if there's time. What was the weather like when you were in SA in November?

Am I right in thinking there's a limit on how much cash you can take into the country?

The weather was very nice, quite warm but not too hot. Was a bit cool and windy on the top of table mountain.

This is what our government says about money

"There are limits on the amount of currency you can bring into South Africa. For cash in South African Rand (ZAR), the limit is 25,000ZAR. For combinations of cash in other currencies, the limit is US$10,000 (or equivalent)"

My main expense was the trips but I cannot remember what currency I needed for which trips.

Hi Monty,

Are you able to update me on how many people have booked this trip (and the add on) and the age and gender split?

Many thanks

Hi Jellifer,

There are 15 travellers booked on this tour so far, with 7 of these extending their holiday with the Victoria Fall add-on. There will be 11 women and 4 men on this trip and ages ranging between the mid-30's to the mid-70's.

Kindest regards,

Hi Monty,

Please can I have an update on numbers? Does the trip have the green light to go yet?

Many thanks

Hi,

Please can I ask for a latest update on numbers and gender split for this trip? Has there been a TM allocated yet? Will they be travelling with us from Heathrow?

Many thanks

Hi Jellifer,

The numbers are now 28 travellers booked on this tour - 13 on the main tour only with 15 staying for the add-on.

The group is made up of 8 men and 20 women with ages from mid-30s through to mid-70s.

The provisional tour manager for this tour is Zoe Ireland and it looks like she will be travelling with the group from London.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi,

Am I right in thinking we depart from T3 at Heathrow and return to T5? Can you confirm please? Do we get lounge access for the outbound flight?

Also is there any update on numbers?

Thanks!

Hi Jellifer,

The Cape Town outbound flight does leave from T3 and the Johannesburg inbound flight does arrive at T5 so you are right to think that.

You do have access to the lounge on the outbound.

The tour is now fully booked out and the Victoria Falls add on have 16 travellers making it through to the add on.

Kind Regards,

Mildred
