Hi all... Am thinking of booking into the NZ trip in October. I've done lots of tours before with Travelsphere & Archers but I've never travelled solo. Friends my age don't have the disposable income to come with me or are all partnered up. I've been travelling with my mum (mainly cruising) recently but sadly we lost her completely unexpectedly in March.

It's my birthday today and am trying to think of happy things so thought I'd take the plunge & ask for advice on here. Can someone who has done this trip give me any feedback? Is there a lot of early starts and long days? I'd like to be busy as much as possible so not a problem if there is.... Just trying to work out how many days extra I'd need off work to recover.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I went on this trip 2 years ago There are some early starts and long days, but nothing horrendous. South Island can be cold and very windy so pack to be able to put on several layers.

a very varied holiday with lots to see, so you will be kept busy!

Have a great time.

hello and welcome

Can I Suggest you look in the review section and see what people really say about this tour.

I have done 11 tours with JY since starting out with them in Sept 2006.

New Zealand is a stunning country Milford Sound reduced me to a few tears amazingly beautiful. Loved the church of the good shepherd, helicopter flight up the franz Joseph and stepping out onto the snow, so many memories. It's a very long way to go, and there are many hours spent on the coach as you do cover both islands. yes there are early starts and long days but you see so much, I would say you need at least two full days at home when you return if not three.

Any other questions just ask!

I did this tour last October and did leave a review.

A few early mornings, but not any really late arrivals. It was my first Just You holiday, I also had trepidations but I recommend. Lounge at Heathrow great place to meet some of the group.

I stay on for 10 days after, as I hired a car and went to stay with my niece 3 hours for Christchurch. So I travelled back to the UK on my one, that was a long haul and I really did miss my travelling companions, particularly as if I went for a wander during the waits at airports, I could not leave my hand luggage with anyone else. Jet lag does happen, just don't arrange any late nights for a few days afterwards.

I hope you book it and thoroughly enjoy it.
