Hello everyone!

I am new to this - this is my first thread.

I was widowed this year and am now beginning to look forward instead of backward. I feel the need for winter sun and would like suggestions. I am drawn to India and Cuba - but would a long-haul be advisable for my first trip.

I am a young 72 and reasonably fit! All suggestions welcome.

Hello,

First of all, sorry to hear about your new circumstances, but well done in starting to look forwards.

If that is where you want to go then go for it. Better that than a compromise which may disappoint you on your first venture. Read the details as much as you can, find out how energetic you need to be, and if you can do it, then don't hesitate.

I went for a shorter trip for my first one, enjoyed it very much, but I regretted not going for something that I really wanted to do rather than try something else the first time round.

Hi

I did the Spirit of India trip in 2012. It is very full on but India is a fascinating country and I will never forget the Taj Mahal and the River Ganges at sunrise. I travelled with a great group who ranged in age from 40s to early 80s. I am sure you will enjoy whichever trip you choose.

Hi

I would say just go for it. If you are fit and healthy than nothing can stop you from going on long haul holiday.
