Was asked the question at the weekend what the weather will be like when I do the Blues Highway Holiday "Route 61" (Americas Heart and Soul) in November.
In fact it was put to me why I've booked in the colder part of the year. So I decided to check the average tempretures and they are not as cold as the person asking thought.
So for information to others on the trip this is what I found :-
Obviously Chicago will be the coldest but in early November can still get up to the mid 50's farenheight during the day dropping off to just above 40 at night. Records indicate we are very unlikely to see anything down to freezing, Chicago temps don't really nose dive until december.
St Louis may touch 60 during the day but be similar to Chicago at night.
Memphis, now we should be hitting mid 60's and not so cold at night, not much below 50.
New Orleans we'll need our shorts as day time tempretures will be into the 70's.
And going in November means we are at minimal risk of been effected by hurricanes (season is June to October with September the worst month). The last two times New Orleans was evacuated 2005 & 2008 (Katrina & Gustav) it was in September. Both times i was going to NO and had to be relocated and wasn't going to take the risk again.
