After deliberating for a number of weeks I've finally took the plunge!

I still haven't booked anything yet but am thinking of the Andalusian trip as it's not too far, not too long (in case I don't like it!) and it includes places I'd like to see.

I do have a few questions:-

I would depart from Birmingham, is it likely I would be on my own?

What is the average number of members on a trip?

Is it worth paying for the optional excursions in advance?

I would appreciate any tips and advice

Hi Gill,

Welcome. Mijas was my first trip with Just You, and there were approx. 30 people on the trip. There were three ofus flying crom Birminghham, but you can check how many people have booked when you book, just to get an idea. The age range was between 25 and 87. You can book the excursions when you get there and thr tour Manager will tell you all about them. Our TM was fantastic. We went in september, and unfortunately the weather was quite bad, which was quite unusual for the time of year, but she arranged all sorts of activities for us. Wherever you book, you will have a fantastic time. Best wishes, Sheila xx

Hi Gill

First of all welcome to Just You community. Even if you are on your own on the flight from Birmingham, which I doubt you will be, you are met on arrival so you will not really be on your own. When I went to Andalucia in September 2010 there were about 30 of us I think. The age range varies from 20s - 80s. Andalucia is a great place and I am sure you will like it. I paid for the optional excursions in advance - Alhambra Palace and Gibraltar. Not sure which optional excusions are on offer this year, but my thinking is you may never get a chance to go back so I try and see as much as I can. If you can affort it, don't miss the trip to Alhambra and it is worth booking in advance as it gets full very quickly. You can always find out if there are others travelling from Birmingham - you can ask if you are booking over the phone, or post your question on Just Community.

Regards

Jaya

Thank you all for your replies. Very helpful. Just got to take the next step and actually book! Ooooh so daunting!

I have never travelled completely on my own, though I have flown to Scotland on my own to visit family.

I usually have one or both of my daughters with me, but thought it was about time to spread my wings!
