Hello,

I have just joined, and I wish you all the very best of luck, but I get the feeling you will not need it. Turkey is a very nice country to visit the food is good and the people are very friendly. The places are normally very hot and sticky so watch out for the mossies, they can be really mean to us humans! HAVE A GREAT TIME

Hello and welcome, I don't know what the best approach for you would be.. For me the 1st tour with JY that I did was long haul to Boston, New England, and New York. I had a great time, since then I have done 2 more USA tours , Kenya Safri, as well as Poland & The Tatra Mountains, and Austrian Lakes, I have two more tours booked.. The holiday are great you get to see so much in a safe and secure enviroment, see so much and meet so many new people.. Hope you go for it, and see what it is all about.

Hi Tim,

Like yourself I had travelled alone in the past on a few ocasions but decided to give a group holiday a go last year so booked with JY. Never regretted it for a minute had a superb time and met some very nice people.

As oon as I returned booked a 2nd trip and again it was great.

Suppose I'm now hooked because I've two more booked already this year.

I will still travel on my own occasionally possibly to see cities I want to (did Budpest solo last October) but my main holidays will be with JY.

Just book whichever holiday appeals to you I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

Mick

Hi Tim,

And Welcome.

What is the best approach? That's easy - pick somewhere you fancy and book it!

It really is a easy as that. Every one of us has been in that situation - and gone on to have a great time. We are all doing this for different reasons but the one thing we have in common is that we would like to go on holiday with others rather than alone.

You will make new friends (of all ages) and your tour manager will make sure you are included in the group.

This could be the start of something big - so just do it.

Good Luck and Enjoy,

Be happy,

Best wishes,

Lesley

Hi there Tim. I have only just joined too, yesterday in fact. Decided to go to Madeira in June. It took me a while to pluck up the courage to phone and I am a little apprehensive, but I'm sure I'll have a great time. I guess it's simply a question of joining in and being oneself, with of course some time on one's own occasionally. Relax, have fun and enjoy. Bazz.

Hi Tim,

I decided last year to take the plunge and did a Discovery Weekend in Leeds which was good fun and I met some lovely people - going on a JY all inclusive to Halkidiki with 2 others I met that weekend. Did a Christmas break with them, which was also good. Also booked up for the Canadian rockies and Alaska Cruise in September - go for it, Tim, as I'm sure you'll enjoy no matter where you go. I haven't read anything negative re any of the holidays yet, so it must be OK! It's certainly the best decision I've ever taken and we're all there because we want to see new places and meet new people

Take care

Anne

Marie,

The age ranges are varied and from what I've seen on the two trips I've done plus what others say Ladies range from late 20's to 70's while the men between 40's to 70's. The majority will be in the 50's and 60's with more ladies than men.

Of course a lot depends which trip you choose and the time of year, I did Andalucia in November and the average age was quite high with just a few under 50's but many older ones preferred that time of year because it was cooler than the summer months. I also did Americas Golden West in the summer and there was a far younger average age but both trips did cover the full age range.

To be honest I thought everyone got on great and age wasn't a issue, remember we are all there for a good holiday.

Mick (aged 52)
